Tidelands Caribbean Hotel and Suites

Room was very nice and clean. Bed comfortable. Balcony needs some paint, but not bad. Only one elevator in the hotel which is also very slow. Parking is an issue, if you get a spot stay parked and walk places if you are able. Right on the boardwalk, so plenty of choices to eat. We are beach people, didn’t try the pools.

We have stayed here before and they changed the check in process. Unless we paid an extra $100 we could not check in before 4pm even if our room was ready. We went at 3:45 to stand in line to check in. 50 minutes later we received our room keys. Only to enter a room that was not ready. We had no towels, no shower curtain, and the beds weren’t made. It was clean but not put together. When we called for towels they took hours to get us what we needed that we used our beach towels for our showers. Our TV didn’t work half the time. The batteries in the remote died. A few days into our trip we asked for clean towels and wash cloths again because when they cleaned the room they didn’t replenish them. The man said he couldn’t give us any because we already had them. I explained we didn’t get any and he wanted all the old ones in return which we didn’t have because they took them. He was disgusted but gave us fresh towels. We had 3 rooms for our group and 1 room had no ac working. They asked for the ac key and there weren’t any left. The soda machine didn’t work and the ice machine was very dirty, moldy, and rusty. The smells in every hallway were putrid. A completely different experience than last and we will not be returning.

The rooms are in desperate need of a deep cleaning, fresh paint and general maintenance. The sliding glass doors were almost impossible to open due to the build up of dirt in the tracks. The paint was peeling in the bathroom and the sink drained very slowly.

The check-in was a nightmare. The lobby over crowded. Everyone had to wait until 4pm. Not enough carts for luggage. Gathered all of my belongings and headed to the 3rd floor for room 321. But was not told it only goes up to 319 for that building. Had to take all of my belongings back to the crowded lobby only to be told it is the other building which I had to travel thru the parking lot to the front of that building. Went to room 321 opened the door and somebody was already in that room. How embarrassing. Had to go all the way back thru the parking lot again to the crowded lobby to complain. Finally they gave me a new room.

Terrible experience. We were in line at 4pm To check in and the front desk lady told us our room wasn’t ready and she was waiting for it to be checked. I asked if we could be moved to another room and she said that wasn’t an option even though she was offering that to other guests. 45 minutes late the manager came down and asked if she could help us and I told her we had been waiting for over 45 minutes to check in and she finally told the lady at the front desk to put us in another room that was ready. That’s all I was asking for all along. The front desk staff didn’t know what they were doing. The room was mediocre at best. Bathroom has mold and desperately needs updating. Only one elevator in the building so always waiting for it several rounds before we could use it. Have stayed here many times in the past but won’t be staying here again. Use your money elsewhere. This place needs some serious work and needs lessons on customer service. Would not recommend to anyone.

Location is great but limited parking Oceanfront rm ok...

Very friendly staff. Parking was tight, since we had two vehicles. You only get one parking spot per guest. However, we were able to find free parking on the street.

The Ac didn’t work and it was hot and the room was dirty!

Great location .. clean property .. nice staff
