I like this hotel new experience

We had a beautiful stay at this hotel. It’s hidden away in the jungle and so peaceful. Incredible Bawa design that makes it feel like you’re immersed within the landscape. Our room looked out to the Kandalama lake and to Sigiraya rock with a balcony to sit on and enjoy listening to the sounds of the jungle and watch the wildlife. Staff were very helpful and friendly. The 7th floor restaurant was a highlight, with a set course menu showcasing modern Sri Lankan food and super attentive waiters. Every dish was incredible.

On check in, staff should advise of the various dining options and things to do. We were checked in and shown to our room but this is a big missed opportunity to inform the guests of the various activities and facilities available to guests. The rooms, whilst in keeping with the Bawa design, could do with a little update/ freshen.

Loved the surrounding jungle and wildlife, the horizon pool was amazing and all the staff were so friendly and helpful. It also had the most wonderful buffet breakfast with so many options.

The air conditioner in our room was very loud and it would have been nice to have a more comfortable sofa to sit in.

Geoffrey Bawa’s design was incredible. Lovely staff and great food - variety and quality. Great massage. Great tour around hotel by naturalist.

The design and concept of Geoffrey Bawa. Incredible. Great staff. V clean. Lovely food and food choices. The high tea with elephants was well worth it.

Woodwork looks a little tired- needs a lick of paint in some areas. Particularly outdoor sunbeds. Plug in bath did not work properly.
