Palazzo Virgilio

This is our third stay at this hotel. It is comfortable and very central to the city centre - walkable to the port and close to the station. Breakfasts are okay - A better selection of cooked breakfast would be welcomed. One point that we need to make is that on the confirmation booking, it clearly states "free parking". In fact there is "free LIMITED parking". Any other parking is charged at 10 euros per day !! Because the limited parking at the front of the hotel is always taken first, we had to use the one at the back of the hotel which is chargeable so we had to pay an extra 40 euros for our 4 night stay. We did show our disappointment to the hotel receptionist who said it was now hotel policy. However, we feel hotel guests should NOT be liable for charges. Perhaps Expedia can clarify this for future bookings ?

Parking on site was great and walking the Main Street was very close and nice

Great hotel great location. Staff is great. From this location it is a short walk to all sites. As you walk to the port where there are lots of eats you pass through the main shopping area. Suggest rating at Betty Cafe at the port. Recommend this hotel. Free parking as well.

The hallway room floor was very worn with carpet bleach stains. The room is very dated with the room windows horribly filthy. The hotel restaurant and front desk staff was very good and nice.

Excellent location-easy walk to train station and historic town center. Staff friendly and offered great sightseeing and dinner recommendations. Facility is a bit run down-for example the chair in our room had a coating that was peeling and shedding. Overall though an excellent value.

Bad location. Sterile environment. We checked in and then out. Moved to the Grand Internationale down on the harbor.

World traveler experienced in Europe. Pros: good location near transportation 10 minute walk into town 17 minutes to the port. Free parking . Above average breakfast for Europe Hotels. Good bathroom water pressure .Professional staff. Not so good: dated style room with musky mildew odor . Bed far too firm uncomfortable. Air conditioning was centrally managed with very little flexibility for user. More of a business Hotel, where a little charm to the rooms all the lobby and breakfast area where modern up-to-date.

Very nice hotel with pleasant and helpful staff. Location is perfect opposite the train station if you are traveling around Puglia

I only stayed one night as it was very close to train station (1 min walk). Clean, quiet, great check in. Nice breakfast.

Beautiful hotel and only a 15 minute walk to the port.
