Raintree's Sandcastle, Birch Bay

Great location for our family location. We've been coming here for 20 years now and really enjoy our stays. Alexa and the rest of the staff really took care of us. 🙂

Great location. We always enjoy our family vacations at Sandcastle. The staff is excellent and always takes care of all of our needs. Look forward to coming back again next year.

We've stayed before, again pools were out but noone said anything even at checkin. Pools had just opened next day. I took a hard fall as I stepped onto top step of hottub, even though I was gripping rail and am always super careful. It was as if oil was on it, my leg bolted out from under me. That was one week ago and Im still in pain and its been a real 'pain' since as my tailbone took a hard hit, twisted ankles going down etc.We reported it to front desk right away and were told they'd have maintenance look at it. We stayed there an hour and noone came. We said something again, same response. I have emailed the Raintree Corp and no response to date. Crickets. It would take so little to at minimum follow-up. Just fix the problem Raintree.

Only downside was the smoking at restaurant below our window caused us not to be able to have windows open.

Great location

The resort is in a good location, right across the beach in a bay. It has a restaurant on the ground floor, which plays really loud music on Friday and Saturday nights until very late. We didn't eat there because honestly, it didn't look very "inspiring". There are other good places in Blaine, 15 minutes North of Birch Bay. The apartment was ok, in dire need of a refresher. The furniture old and beds very soft. There is no AC, just a fan, but we didn't really need it, the weather wasn't too hot. Overall pretty clean, except the bathrooms. They could have used a deep cleaning. Kitchen not a lot to offer, but sufficient to cook breakfast and light dinner/lunch. Parking lot is a little weird, half paved, half dirt. The staff is pleasant. There's not much to do in the area, we didn't stay local. There is a market not far from there, called The Market, well stocked with a lot to offer. Bellingham offers a lot of stores, a Costco, a couple of Fred Meyers, a Whole Foods, coffee shops, restaurants. I wouldn't return here unless they update the place and do something about the restaurant downstairs.
