Britannia Bournemouth Hotel

Beds hard, soundproof awful, tired decor, tiny tv

Room was old and very smelly, really run down Hotel, poor quality

Possibly the worst experience ever, I booked in good faith only

Arrived early for our 3 night stay. Parking is not free and is £5 per day, limited spaces, lucky to find a space. We had a dog and that was an extra £25. Our room was clean but the furniture was dated and the chest of drawers that had the tv on it didn’t close without adjusting. Bed was uncomfortable as the mattress was very hard. No bath mat provided. Walls quite thin as you could hear people talking in the next room during the night. Fire alarm went off one night around 11.30pm. Guests were up and moving around, turned out someone had smoked in their room and set the smoke alarm off which then triggered the fire alarm system. The hotel bar was unstaffed so you had to buy your drinks from the main reception, dated decor, needs updating. Burnt carpet in corridor leading to our room. Breakfast was nice with lots of choice. Overall we found the hotel disappointing, dated. It needs maintaining and redecorating.

This is worst hotel I stayed.Very small room toilet is not good condition no hand wash. We had to buy our own hand wash. Yellow stain in bath.Room was not cleaned three days we stayed. Furniture need to mordern touch. I would not recommend this hotel. We had amazing time at beaches.

This was my second short-stay at the Britannia in Bournemouth. I would say it is a brilliant hotel for the price, with friendly staff, clean rooms and everything you need. I was there during the hottest few days of the year, and the rooms were a little hot even at night, but fans are provided in the rooms, which made a big difference. Well recommended for short stays and a great location for the beach and public transport.

The well known saying, "you get what you pay for" is certainly true. That said, I didn't pay much and found this hotel to be great value for money. The rooms were clean and spacious, the staff were friendly and the beds were comfortable. Can't really go wrong for short stays close to Bournemouth Beach.

Hotel was a good location - one street behind beach - 10 mins walk to main pier & 5 mins from Weathersppons for a cracking breakfast. Hotel is very dated howerever it was fine sleep & shower & out
