Britannia Bournemouth Hotel

Hotel was easy to find close to the beach, but ut could do with a face lift ,through lockdown i would have thought they would have done maintenance work on the hotel, ie no light bulb in the bed side light bathroom fan not working. Not enough 13amp plug scockets, decotating shabby light in lift not working, no sauces for the breakfast can go on.

Hotel I booked was actually closed when I got there, although they did book us into their sister hotel The Royal Bath Hotel and Spa. The hotel staff was friendly and got us booked in very quick but the room was very disappointing. It was very dated, like most of the hotel. The bedding was thin and uncomfortable, the shower head needed cleaning as when it was in use it sprayed in all directions. It left us disappointed and unwilling to try any of the other facilities of the hotel

Filthy, scared to have a shower, carpet is so dirty, it’s so uncomfortable and you just cannot put your hand anywhere inside the room.

I'm ashamed to call Bournemouth my home town. It is home also to possibly some of the worst hotels in second World countries, and the Brittannia has helped to build the town's reputation as being hostile to visitors. I was in room 223, a glorified cupboard, barely large enough to accommodate a double bed. It measured 9' 6" at the entry end and 6' at the window. The differnce accommodated an en-suite barely wide enough for a bath with basin one end and toilet the other. As far as the bed was concerned, unless you are a fan of cheap and a ancient lumpy and broken mattresses, it is unlikely you will get a good night's sleep and wake up anything other than bruised and tired. The staff did theur best to keep the tired and aging place clean, but despite their best efforts, the lack of freshness made the place feel anything but. Car parking is inadequate, and if you arrive after 4p.m. you'll need to find somewhere on tge busy roads outside. Parking there is however free from 6 p.m. to 9 a.m. so get out early if you do. Im struggling to find something positive to say, but since I can't think of anything, I'll end my review here.

Cheap but not cheerful.

The accommodation was just disgusting with dirty views of the roof from the window showing ventilation systems and dirty chair and carpet full of stains. Unfortunately there’s no facility here to upload the pictures taken. Never again!!!

Arrived at 4pm checked in, put my bag in the room and went straight out as it was beautiful day and wanted to catch the last of the sun, Went and had some food and arrived back at the hotel around 8pm. After an inspection their was no way I could stay in the room, sick stains on the walls and just generally unclean. Also a door in the middle of the room meant my partner felt unsafe to sleep their incase someone accessed the room. So I ended up driving home rather then sleep there! Which was 4 hours but better that then stay in this hotel. So poor

On arrival the receptionist said we hadn’t paid despite paying when booking. I had to show my bank statement to prove I’d paid. No apology given for the error. We were given our room key and no other information regarding where anything was ie bar, or where we go for breakfast. No details in the room either. The room itself is basic and the bathroom could do with a deep clean as lots of soap residue on shower cubicle and tiles. The shower head was starting to go orange and again needed a good clean. Breakfast was okay with plenty to eat. The car park is small and on a first come first serve basis though people just parked anywhere blocking other cars. Only used the hotel for one night. Room rate should be lower

The hotel is in need of a good renovation. The bed was hard as concrete, but other than that there's not much wrong with the place for the price. None of the facilities were open due

This hotel had nice staff, but badly need a refurb, would not visit again because of the above
