Novotel Balikpapan

The hotel was OK and it didn’t value of 4 star rating. The breakfast was plenty to choose from but blend no flavours. It would be nice if served in little portions but tasty. The staff seems unknowable and weren’t accommodating at all.

There was a young man named Aknofa who worked in the Squares restaurant and he spoke English quite well. He was very helpful and the service was excellent. All the staff were extremely friendly and made my stay so pleasant. Many thanks Aknofa and Novotel Balikpapan.

Back again to Balikpapan City after 15 years :-) Spent 4 nights at the Hotel Novotel Balikpapan, and everything was great. Service, Food, Facility and Staff are all amazing. I got a room with sea view and pool view also the room is clean and big space. Breakfast was tasty and many choices. All staff were friendly and very helpful. All the best for Novotel Balikpapan !

The room was large and the bed was comfortable. The hotel serves beer. The location is central with about 150m walk down to the main Road.

We arrived on the flight from Jakarta at about 10pm and there was only one receptionist checking guests in so we were left waiting for about 10 minutes until another staff member also started checking people in. The hotel should know and be prepared to receive guests from the flight and not make guests wait while other staff stood around.l until one finally decided to also check in guests.

Easy access to a small local mall with things you can get if stuck, market for food. the Hotel is great and the staff are super, always willing to help, even if sometime language is a issues for English they still try to make it happen. Ms CiCi in reception at check in always smiles and keep you updated on any points raised and generally a polite person and gives any feedback. The customer relations manager Eugenia is one of a million, so helpful and accommodating to fix everything, she cares for her team and shows positive leadership skills. the restaurant staff, housekeeping and concierge are smiling so much and never any problems with helping you out.
