The Umstead Hotel and Spa

This is one of my favorite hotels to stay when I'm traveling for work! The service is warm, welcoming, friendly, and professional. The rooms are beautiful and beds are super comfortable. The food is amazing! I particularly enjoy breakfast on the terrace. Best macarons I've ever had!!

My wife and I decided to stay at The Umstead for my birthday and our anniversary last July, and our stay was perfect! The flowers in the lobby were pristine purple (our favorite color!), the staff were very friendly, and the service was impeccable! They delivered amazingly fancy chocolates to our room (which I had pre-ordered) along with chocolate strawberries with white chocolate shavings and champagne! Shortly after we arrived, a thunderstorm came, but it was refreshing to open the door to the porch attached to our room to smell the rain. Dinner at Herons was an absolute culinary delight with surprise after surprise arriving at our table to give us essentially our finest dining experience anywhere in North Carolina! As an anniversary gift, they gave us a wrapped box that contained two fancy champagne flutes with gold leafing on them -- definitely keepers for us! Both breakfast in bed and lunch after we checked out both provided more extrordinary tastes! The spa visit with a couples massage was a pleasureful experience. This stay was 100% perfect! We knew we would definitely return, and we did to celebrate our son's 19th birthday and Adoption Day at Herons this past Friday evening to expose him to the culinary delights that we enjoyed last summer with a different menu that dazzled our taste buds! :)

Arrived in room and luckily did a quick inventory, An empty Titos bottle, reported but so wrong. I brought my own favourite wine glass along, taken from room and reported. No feedback whatsoever.
