"Safe, Comfortable Choice near Barrio Escalante"

I would definitely stay here again, although the first impression from the front desk clerk was a little to be desired. All the other members of staff were incredibly friendly and helpful. The included breakfast in the morning was DELICIOUS and the room was simple and clean. The interior has a nice courtyard area and I can see feeling very comfortable here for a long term stay.

"Decent but loud"

We landed in San José at 730 am after flying all night long. We could not wait for a hot shower and comfortable bed. Due to the early morning rush hour traffic we arrived about 2 hours later and were immediately showed to our room before the usual check in time. We were very grateful for that! Although there is quite a bit of commuter train noise and horns going, we were able to fall asleep quickly and comfortably. We were leaving early in the morning, but noticed that the traffic and train noises also began early morning too. Perhaps not the best location for sleeping in.

"Nice hotel run by great people"

We stayed here on our first night after arrival in Costa Rica. The owners were very friendly, driving us to an ATM and showing the street with restaurants close to the hotel. The room was spacious and clean. Great way to start of holidays in Costa Rica

"great location"

I stayed 3 nights and I was happy . The staff is very friendly and helpful. The location is great...there is a lot of bars and restaurants on calle 33 ...it is also close to mall san pedro and downtown ( 10 minutes walking distance) . During the day you will hear the train .I did no bother me at all. At night the train stops. I will definitely come back.

"Beautiful hotel in San Jose"

This was a beautiful hotel with a very clean bedroom and bathroom. The hotel is a private house which is very tastefully done up and has a pretty backyard. It is in a quiet, posh neighbourhood, just 15 mins from San Jose city Center. I'd highly recommend it!

"One night stay only!!"

This room is good for a quick one night stay. While the room was very large..some housekeeping was lacking. Curtains hid dirty window sills and the bedding felt unclean and dirty. There was also just a fan in the room no a/c. However, the owners were very accommodating and hotel was convenient to downtown and local restaurants and market.

"Nice enough for our first night in town"

Cheap hotel, free parking and breakfast included. Service was pleasant and the room was fine for what we needed. We left soon after breakfast so didn't spend much of our trip there, but it had everything we needed for a stop over and was easy to find.
