Airport Hotel Basel

Great staff, very willing to help which you don't often get. I forgot to bring a charging cable but the guys lent me one of the staff's. Also offered a shuttle service that i didnt know about. Big rooms, all very clean. Not that central - depends where you want to be! - but very good value and friendly. I'd stay again!

We wanted to stay near the airport for an early flight out. This hotel was clean, comfortable, and on the bus line to the airport. We also took the bus into center city for dinner, since there is not much around the airport. The bus is very convenient.

Arrived very late to very helpful reception. Everything spotlessly clean. Lovely big breakfast buffet with nice smiley man working in the room seemingly alone but nothing was too much trouble. Thankyou. Would highly recommend this hotel

Very convenient for the airport - less than 5 minutes by public bus. Clean and smart

When your flight is cancelled (thanks Easy Jet) and the hotel is full, it takes exceptional service to make things work. I arrived on Wednesday evening 31st August in exactly that situation. So the hotel got somebody in to clean an extra room, they gave me a meal voucher and they said 'don't pay' we will claim off Easy Jet. The glass of Merlot at the bar was the best I ever tasted and the reception desk and restaurant provided excellent service - and good food. Thank you to the team who deserve real praise. My room was actually excellent too and the wi-fi was good.

We stayed at Airport Hotel Basel for two nights, and had a lovely room overlooking the France-Switzerland border on the 9th floor. The staff were pleasant, efficient and professional. Beds were comfy enough - shower was the best! We thought the beverage dispenser including alcohol was clever, as well as the shoe shiners next to the elevators. Only downside is there was only one chair at the desk and both my husband and I were using our computers so we had to take turns. NOTE: it's not close to any restaurants in reasonable walking distance to carry food! They did give us a free transit pass to use while staying at the hotel but I'm not sure if this is SOP for them. We would stay at this hotel again.

Even though it looks like it should be hired by the hour it’s actually a great hotel. Service is outstanding, food is very good, it’s conveniently located for travellers. For an airport hotel it’s better than most.

My family and I had to book a last minute stay here due a flight cancellation. When booking the airport shuttle, you need to book ahead. Look out for a mini bus branded with grand casino Basel. No warm welcome when entering the hotel. Staff seemed highly opinionated of themselves and had the "too good to work" ethic. When I tried to order a beer at the bar, one of the members of staff was having a beer himself whilst meant to be working. He made sure to finish it before serving me. The other member of staff at the front desk was happy to stand about and do nothing. Airport shuttle is complimentary but doesn't run 24 hours a day. We were told at check in to take the free bus in the morning to the airport as it was only 5km away. The member of staff said he would print us out free city passes to use the bus for the morning so they would be ready at 4am when checking out but they weren't. Member of staff at check in advised us the airport wouldn't be busy in the early hours of the morning and that 90 minutes would be fine. The bus never showed up in the morning after waiting over 25 minutes. We had to flag down a mini bus. Whilst we were getting in to the taxi, conveniently the hotels free shuttle was parked at the front of the hotel and seemed to be operating. We nearly missed the flight because of this. The restaurant food was expensive and the quality was typical pub grub with a high price, 7% service included which I wouldn't have paid if I had the option to tip. Room was spacious but they are tacky, it's like somewhere you would bring a 'friend' for the night with no intention of sleeping. Not the best experience for 1 night in Basel and my first visit to Switzerland.
