Handy location. Very helpful staff.

Convenient and affordable stay. Left impressed ! I stayed here with my family - (young baby) for two nights whilst visiting the area. Firstly the staff are so kind and friendly. Especially the two woman who run the front desk. A cheerful hello everytime we walked past. The room was spacious, had everything we needed (tea & coffee facilities, hot shower, TV) and a river view! Super walkable to all main places in Kendal - and right by a river side walk path. We had a drink in the bar area - lucky enough to have dry weather so we sat on the outdoor patio (with the most amazing river view!). The lovely staff even turned the outdoor heating on for us as it was a bit chilly. Having the gym and pool included was a brilliant surprise - remember and bring flip flops. Free parking in an underground carpark- perfect for the mountain of bags we had as a family. I would recommend this place to anyone staying in the area for an affordable pleasant stay.

Stayed here for a night whilst walking The Dales Way. Used a taxi from the A6 crossing to the hotel and back. The bed was very comfy, blackout curtains were great in May and the view of the river from the window an added bonus. Breakfast was a standard hotel breakfast, the packed lunch was a bargain at £6.95 and the halloumi and red pesto sandwich was the best of the week! Overall a great night's stay.

Fantastic location, welcoming and friendly staff. Parking on site (height limit to car park of 2 metres). Food in the restaurant was fantastic.

Rooms are tired and need upgrading. Wooden doors in the bathroom are rotting at the bottom and the walls are chipped and need repainting. Changed rooms as first room had a broken mattress but the staff were very helpful in rectifying the situation.

Great location with lovely staff. Sharon was especially helpful when we had some lost property to have posted out to us. Very friendly and professional.

The hotel itself is well laid out, but from an aesthetic point of view, could do with some TLC. Tired paintwork and some worn out fixtures and fittings, but in such an old building I appreciate the maintenance is already high. None of these points affected our level of comfort. Breakfast was ok, but the addition of some barista coffee in the morning would be welcome.

The WiFi does not work at all. Breakfast quality is poor. Very small TV.
