Kaanapali Ocean Inn

Ants found in the bathroom on the floor and sink. Rusted door corners. Patches on walls. Overall, not very clean.

We upgraded to an oceanfront room with a great lanai; great for whale watching and viewing the sunset. The grounds are beautiful, and it was just a few steps to the ocean on one of our favorite beaches. The room was huge with lots of storage and a decent bed. Yes, the furnishings are outdated and the flooring needs to be changed, but we were very comfortable. It's very serene except during the nightly luau next door, but we did learn a lot of Mauian history and listened to lots of Hawaiian music without attending. With warm-up, it is full on from 5 - 8 pm. Nearby restaurants were great.

The front desk could have been more helpful instead of rude. The room is amazing with a beautiful view of the garden. Close to the beach. The drinks are a bit pricey. Met some nice people on the beach

The standard room was horrible! It was in the oldest part of property and had not had any updated. I refesued to stay it was go disgusting. It should be torn down. The front desk gave me an up grade. Otherwise i would not have stayed there.

First off I was charged $85 extra for resort fees and parking after initial room charge. Room was ok.. bathroom was in bad condition and hot tubs were broken? Then dinner… ok but pricey. Service was terrible, our waiter did not listen to any requests made on food. My partner ordered a BBQ chicken flatbread only for our waiter come back and tell us half way through the meal when he asked for bbq sauce that they were out.. would not recommend, there’s many better places we have stayed in Hawaii. I’m honestly upset with how much I was charged considering.

Wait staff and bartenders more interested in conversing and socializing with each other than paying attention to customers. Limited menus and what was available very disappointing for the money. Housekeeping staff very friendly, but room cleaning time varied too much (9:45, 11:30, 10:45, 1:15).

This place is an absolute dump! Unfortunately, we had to use it as a one-night buffer after our stay at KOR because of flight schedules. I wouldn't recommend it to my worst enemy. To start, the room wasn't ready by 4:00 p.m. so we had to wait while the "cleaned" it. The carpet in the room was absolutely disgusting. They charge $78 per day for a resort fee and parking. You call this place a resort? Ugh! I don't have enough words to explain how gross it was. I wouldn't recommend it even if it was free.

Went to our room and there were cockroaches and dirt from the ceiling landed on our bed. Asked for a new room and there were the same issues. Ended up getting upgraded to a room at Royal Lahaina (next door), which was much more pleasant.

The rooms have roaches & are super outdated. Everything is dusty & not clean

The location and the view are fantastic! There is no elevator, or microwave. The Luau is right next to the inn, which is good if you enjoy the show, but a little loud. The view overrides the rest!!!
