"real smoke free room, safe and convenient location"

8.0

Although the smoking smell is inevitable in every hotels' lobby, there was no smoking smell inside our room. This is very precious in China. It is in short distance to walk to the West Lake. The bathroom needs improvement in general. Shower door was leaking. The hotel service was very good. Staffs were very polite.

"Not worth it"

4.0

Hotel is old and with poor amenities. Online pictures were deceiving. We were assigned to non-smoking floor and room but ended up still smelling cigarette smoke every night. We feedback to hotel staff of the smoke but nothing was done. The bed mattress and armchair cushion in room would sink in when you sit on it, these should have been reholstered long ago. We stayed on the 16th floor but could hear traffic and pedestrian (even barking dogs) noises 24 hours. Not suitable for light sleepers. Realized it is better to have chosen a well-known international hotel chain in China. However, the plus points were that the location is very close to West Lake and breakfast was served on top floor with a good selection of local and international cuisine. Overall, it is not worth the SGD150 per night we paid.

Overall nice hotel. Rooms are nice and clean, though slightly dated. Centrally located within a 5-7 minute walk from the nearest subway station and 10 minutes to West Lake. Front desk staff is hit-or-miss, with some being cordial and some being rather rude. Stored my luggage at the hotel for a 2-day excursion without any issues.

"From Hangzhou with Stories"

6.0

This is the most interesting cool city in China and I have been in and out of China since 1994. As for the hotel, it was OK for the price paid. However if you cannot speak Chinese or deal with the local culture, choose another hotel. Front desk staff's willingness to provide incorrect information and answers was amazing. Wifi was unstable, up and down. Housekeeping staff came quickly to fix each time I called so they deserve kudos for responsiveness. First morning, I went to the dining room to check out breakfast with main purpose to get COFFEE. Coffee cups in dining room are small and the host said each cup would be USD4 so I asked if I could bring the larger cup from the room. Answer was No so I never went back. Next morning, I went downstairs at 6:30 am and asked front desk about local coffee shops, was told the closest one was near Westlake and opened at 9 am. which made no sense. Within 2 blocks, found Cafe Miel and 2 Starbucks that opened at 7 am. Cafe Miel is a local shop with great coffee and pastries in same block. Pleasant area to explore; Fascinating juxtaposition of the traditional and contemporary times. Rained every day so a raincoat would have been good to have. Walked to Westlake every day before work day began. Go before crowds. Well kept old structures, carved out paths to run, stretch, trees, flowers, creatures. Special spot to breathe and reflect.

"Good chinese hotel, Ok for foreigner."

8.0

Globally the hotel is very satisfactory. The breakfast offer western food, not very large choice but nothing to complain about. It is close to the west lake what is good when you spend just one night in Hangzhou. People are very nice. The hotel is in good confition. The beds are chinese, meaning quite hard. SPA is so so. I have done a massage, I had to wait 1 hour to get it due to lake of employee, and the place was very noisy due to other kind of massage activities next door...Not acceptable for such category hotel.

"Fantastic city stop-over"

Great drop in place to be near the city and not too far from the airport. Would definitely recommend. Check in was effortless, room was clean and comfortable (very stiff bed though)

Hotel was not the greatest. The pictures are not close to actual, and the bathroom pictures are nothing close to what's posted online. I was on 12 floor, elevator was ok for hotel. Pretty quiet, though I heard a few kids screaming from a surrounding room ( was not bothering at all but walls a little thin) Bed was SUPER hard... Like sleeping on the floor. Not a terrible stay but not use to Chinese 4 star standards

Well located, a short walk from West Lake. Hotel interior appears quite dated and the bed is pretty hard! Service is curt, but efficient. Only has two non smoking floors!
