Regent Beijing by IHG

Chose this hotel for the second part of our stay in Beijing. Unbeknown to us at time of booking, there was a prominent European PM staying at the hotel during our stay. However, apart from heightened security measures, it didn't really have much impact on our stay, despite the staff being extra busy it seemed. We had access to Club lounge with our room, and I can certainly recommend booking this type of room. We were there for a special occasion which I'd told the hotel beforehand, and they really did go above and beyond to help us celebrate. We had the Golden Horse Afternoon Tea in the Lobby Lounge, and this was all delicious. We were well looked after by Fred, also Alison who'd I'd been in contact with via email prior to arriving at the Regent. We chose to have our breakfasts at the Club Lounge, also spent a happy hour or two there also! Again we were very well looked after by all the wonderful staff. I only wish I could remember all of your names! The only one point I would wish to make that compared to restaurants/eateries here in the UK, we weren't asked whether we had any food allergies. One in our party has a nut allergy, and we noticed that nuts were included on a cheese platter in the Club Lounge. We did make a point of drawing this to the attention of one of the staff members there, so think it's a point worth mentioning, as having an allergy could be life threatening for some people. But this doesn't take away from anything we experienced at the Regent, and I only wish we could have stayed longer.

The hotel is clean, spacious, close to the center, convenient when traveling and sightseeing.

The only thing I am not satisfied with is that the restaurant in the hotel does not have English-speaking staff, it is difficult to order.

Excellent overall but only the check in let down , no concierge to take out cases , not told where breakfast was , understand u had vip guests but all guests should be vip

The location and the property itself were quite nice. The staff is also very hardworking and going out of their way to please the guests. When we were waiting for our taxis in the lobby, bellboy brought us bottles of water free of charge, which wasn’t an expensive but a very well thought out gesture.

Our experience was that rooms were quite dated. Bigger issues were the following: 1. Room cleaning could be much better. We are not too picky, but finding so much dust behind a nightstand (just one example)is a good indicator that deep cleaning hasn’t been done in a while. 2. AC control- we tried many methods but no success- it was too hot in the room and we had no way of regulating the temperature, staff wasn’t helpful in this matter at all.

Helpful and very attentive staff. Location was ideal with subway and Forbidden City withinin walking distance. Room was very spacious, clean and beds very comfortable. Plenty of variety for breakfast and buffet or a la carte style.

Wifi was a bit patchy in the rooms and better in downstairs lobby.

We had an amazing time at this beautiful, well appointed and exceptionally serviced hotel. We were welcomed the moment we walked in and were accommodated early as we had an early morning arrival. We stayed in a suite, which was beautifully appointed and well looked after by housekeeping. We also had the pleasure of having club access on level 17 and highly recommend it for young fussy eaters. Breakfast both in the club and on level 2 in the main restaurant buffet. The pool and gym facilities are excellent for a hotel with a weights room, cardio room and 25m indoor heated pool. What a delight! Amazing location, with use of the subway and close proximity to Wangfujing St and the Forbidden City. However the best part of the stay was the staff. Special mention to the best concierge Y, and front reception staff Yedda and Frank. What a team and they make you feel like family and royalty. Will definitely be coming back to stay here!

The hotel is in a perfect location, top floors have a great view. What made our stay excellent was the first contact with the hotel manager Mrs Elena that has sorted out small issues at check in . But what made the experience memorable has been the concierge assistance made by Mrs Hina and her team. We got perfect information to organize all our excursions . Hina exceeded our expectation
