DoubleTree by Hilton Akron Fairlawn

I always stay here but this latest visit was extremely sub-par. Front office staff was rude and dismissive and I’ve never experienced that treatment here prior. The HVAC or something broke at 3am making a horrible noise all throughout the floor. I had to call the front desk, they did alleviate the issue quickly.

We loved how personable the staff was and the fact that the staff sent me texts to check how things are going and asked if there was anything they can do to make our stay better! What we didn’t really like were the fact that the dog in the room nearby us was barking during the night (around 1am because he woke me up) and it was slightly disturbing our rest

The property is nice , but the cleaning and maintenance is poor , the sheet was dirty and with stains carpet never been vacuuming when you take a shower the shower head is shooting watr to the ceiling, you can see how dirty is the shower never been scrubs we found others people belonging on the floors, when we went to use the coffee maker was dirty is look like never been clean, the clock phone charger not working, but the front desk employs are super nice and friendly

first room had a bas smell - realized the next day the carpet was wet because of AC leak. I got moved to a different room with free breakfast both nights.

The room was large and pleasant, quiet, king size bed, large bathroom, etc. Breakfast buffet was quite good. Great parking, location etc

Room wasn't clean. Checked on on Friday, no maid service till Sunday and then they didn't change the sheets. Just made up the bed with dirty sheets. Dirty hand prints on headboard and wall. The window shade was broken. The safe didn't work. We called downstairs Friday and they said they'd send someone up, but we were still calling on Saturday. It never did get fixed.

Amazing time staying here very clean and pet friendly!! Pool was icing on the cake plus all the fine art and restaurants!

Staff was friendly and cordial. Buffet I think was overpriced for what it was. Called down to front desk for towels, they brought them to the room within minutes. Overall room was clean, but had some issues. For one sink faucet was about to fall off it was so loose. And bathroom door stuck shut, where you had to pull so hard to open, the doorknob was coming loose. Shower handle you had to pull so hard to turn on , thought I was going to break it. And i know this is knit picking but TV sucked....was the worst reception of any hotel i have ever stayed at.....thats my review, take it for what it is worth.

Why cut so many corners? The bed sheets/pillow cases are not cotton. They are 57% polyester and the rest, modal. They don't feel much different than the fabric of a nylon windbreaker. The coffee was hot, but tasteless. The breakfast bar contained 90% pre-packaged, processed "food." I realize that free breakfasts aren't supposed to be food, but for $170/night*, actual food would be nice. *Actual price for that night
