"Great room, great service, great dining but ..."

Great room, great service, great breakfast and a wonderful garden in the back for a nightcap. Overall a great experience but a bit out of the way. About a 15-20 minute walk to the main sites, ie Hermitage, Nevsky Prospect, etc. Hotel is located on a quiet, old city street bisected by a canal. Staff is very good ordering a cab but St. Petersburg is a tough city to find a cab on the streets to get back to hotel. Still if you like a nice stroll, this is the place for you.

"Loved Alexander House!"

We loved Alexander House: extremely nice, helpful, young staff. The garden in the central courtyard was lovely as were the lounges and reading rooms. The breakfast buffet (included) was delicious including Russian and international selections. Great location, nicely designed clean rooms. We would go back in a minute!

"If you go to St Petersburg, stay here!"

Alexander House was amazing from beginning to end. The staff is very nice, attentive, and helpful. The rooms are beautifully decorated. We were very impressed with the restaurant which serves an amazing breakfast (which is included for all guests) and an excellent dinner. Also, their Russian banya is very nice and well worth the price. Overall we highly recommend Alexander House and plan on coming back if we're in St Petersburg again!

"A warm welcome in St Petersburg"

On this our first visit to Russia we found the welcome at the Alexander House Hotel to be particularly warm and friendly (in contrast to the approach of all the other Russians we met!). Located a short walk from the city centre, we found this unique property to offer a cosy (underflooor heating in the bathroom) room and excellent food. The staff went out of their way to be friendly and accommodating. St Petersburg is 'out of season' just before Christmas and we did a lot of walking around the sights in sub-zero temperatures. Having a good base to return to was real delight for us. We would have appreciated having other restaurants a little closer, but eating here was part of the pleasure.

"A wonderful stay"

My wife and I stayed here during the White Nights and had a wonderful time. We stayed in the St. Petersburg room which was very large with lots of light. We enjoyed the breakfast and later cocktails in the courtyard. But the best part of the stay was the service. Everyone was helpful and cheerful and when I had an unfortunate mishap of a lost wallet, they worked overtime to make sure I was connected to the necessary agencies to get me back on track. Thank you XYZ! The hotel is on a quiet canal street. We will stay here the next time in town.
