Restaurant great, Doris was friendly and efficient waitress. Food very good. Great view of Abbott lake and sharp top. Looking forward to visiting again

The property is old and has not been updated. The carpet is terrible. The furniture stained. The AC barely works. Dust on a lamp that I could have written my name. Virtually no WiFi in the rooms. The bedsheets felt clean and bed not bad. Shared concerns with manager. She was understanding, expressed they are having issues and comped our breakfast.

Beautiful view. Lovely facility. Adequate food. Institutional level quality. Good service. Salad promised to contain bacon hat soy bits but companions sandwich had nice bacon. Doris was very pleasant.

The Peaks of Otter hotel looked nice online, but it had a few flaws. First, the rooms were not very clean. It is not a new hotel and it is tatty, I think. The worst thing, though, was the buffet on Sunday night. This wasn't mentioned in the reviews I read online, as I wouldn't have gone to a buffet. Anyway, there were few choices: Fried chicken was the only main dish. There were green beans that had the oddest flavor, as if there were a rancid ingredient in them. The dessert table was just awful. In all, I wished that I hadn't eaten there. I would never, ever go back to the Peaks of Otter hotel.

I went there for the brunch bar.It was worth the trip.Doris waited on me.She was very pleasant and friendly. I will be back

The room was attractive and comfortable. Absence of porch rockers is a negative. Outside of lodging buildings badly needs paint. Dining experience has declined dramatically from past experiences. Playing 80's Rock in the dining room is totally inappropriate for that lakeside setting ( and I like music but it's terrible the ambiance desired at the Peals ding room. Soft music or something like mountain dulcimer would be fitting). Waited 20 min for fresh chicken- 3 old wings were all that was available. Rolls were hard from sitting a long time. Experience could be so much more and cost creating that heightened experience would be recovered from increased business volume. Badly need visionary management team.

We have been staying here since the 80's. It has always been our "go to" just to rest and relax. We usually come here in the Spring and in the Fall for about 10 years. Right after Covid the restaurant only did "grab and go" for breakfast. Then they went to buffet except for Tuesday (I think) which was closed all day. Last Fall was buffet every day (breakfast). We were with another couple then and chose to eat breakfast in Buchannan on our last day. In May when they opened for the year we had breakfast menus weekdays and buffet on weekends. We were disappointed on Friday morning to find the buffet because we didn't consider it the weekend. The chef had put catfish on the menu and taken trout off which was a disappointment as well. Trout is what a lot of guests go there to eat. So when we went last week we went Monday=Thursday so we wouldn't have the buffet only to find out on Tuesday that their web site is NOT CORRECT and they do not offer menus for breakfast, just buffet. My husband got French toast on Tuesday and me on Wednesday. We both got the pieces off the bottom of the tray so it would be warmer than the top (we thought) only to find it NOT WARM AT ALL. Cold food is why we don't like buffets, especially breakfast. The Continental breakfast didn't have much to choose from. They have a new general manager and chef. At least the chef put trout and fried chicken back on the menu which was very good. I spoke with the new general manager and told her that the company needed to change their web site to reflect the correct way breakfast was being offered. We chose to buy doughnuts in town for Thursday's breakfast which wasn't what I wanted. As of today the web site still shows menus for breakfast Monday - Thursday. The supper menu and food was great as usual. We had several wait people that did a great job. Malinda, Ariana Lizzie, Christi, and Reva. I expressed our disappointment and hopefully the management will reconsider their decision on breakfast. I was told it was a financial decision but when I saw all the food left on the buffet, I don't see how leftover food is cheaper than making food as people order it (unless it is the number of wait staff they need for individual orders). I hope the web site gets fixed so others won't be disappointed (we saw 4 people leave when they saw the buffet.) We really enjoy our stay here but would enjoy it more with the changes.

Very relaxing. Good food at good prices. Very restful setting. Nice trails.

Excellent service. Our server, Christy was friendly and efficient. Food was plentiful and very good. Recommend the salmon and/or the pork loin.
