Hilton Garden Inn West Monroe

The location is the only thing I liked.

The room smelled like pee, the covers were dirty along with the floor & Dust behind the beds which flared up my allergies!

I booked two rooms for me and a co-worker. We checked in and were only in our rooms for a short period of time before heading to dinner. On our way out to dinner, my co-worker requested a new room due to finding stained pillows, facial hair in the sink (as if someone shaved), and bobby pins/hair ties all over the floor. She was upgraded to a junior suite because there were no more regular king rooms, but she did not get into the suite until after dinner. At the time, I went in with her to find an extreme mold type smell, more bobby pins on the floor, a rusted out tub/shower, and once I left she sent me a picture of toe nails found on the floor. Back in my room, I too found that I had a rusted out tub/shower but then I stepped on something the size of a quarter that was wet and slimy. I was barefoot so it grossed me out. While taking a picture of it, I stepped on another similar substance by the bed. I backed up to look at it and saw something under the bed. I took a picture, and this time the flash went off. The first two substances looked like maybe greenbeans mushed together and then the last substance looked like maybe chewed up meat and something white. It was disgusting and at that point, we packed our bags and left. We maybe spent a total of 45 minutes in either room.

It’s very outdated. The bathtub in my room had rust in it. The carpet was extremely dirty in the room as well as in the hallway. The water in the sink as well as the toilet and tub has a brown cloudy color to it.

Breakfast was ok. Staff are friendly and helpful. The bed was comfortable. Being able to keep my dog with us was good. Laundry on site was helpful. I worried about it staining my clothes.

The interior is atrocious compared to so many other newer facilities. The carpet through out is old and grungy, dirty and depressing. The room furniture is old and beat up. The dirty looking water was down right scary. Was the coffee made with it? I kept waiting for the stomach ache to follow. A warning in the room would have been helpful.

There was no ev charging even though the website said there was.

We arrived in the evening (two rooms booked) to an entire lobby full of small children running around, screaming, taking over the place. Now, don’t get me wrong, we are parents ourselves and understand children need to burn off energy. But to allow them to run into walls, body slam themselves on the floor, hide and then jump out of the curtains in front of other guests seems a little out of control and not to mention cowardly of the staff to not say anything to the parents who were watching this happen. Keep in mind, this was our first few minutes after arriving and chaos was happening. To the hotel staff reading this review: I’m sure if you look at camera footage (if there is any) from Friday, July 18th at around 8 PM…you’ll see everything you need to see. The room we booked was, well let’s just say…gross. Black, stringy hair on the bathroom floor. The carpet was too dirty to actually walk on with bare feet. And the linens had a faint urine smell to them. The other room that was booked for our friends wasn’t much better. This definitely goes down in history as the worst Hilton brand hotel we have ever stayed at. It’s takes the grand prize, heavyweight champion of grossness. Stay away! Better yet, sleep in your car if that is your only other option.

It was close to the ball park my grandchild was playing in. The staff was friendly enough and did give us bottled water to use to make coffee in the room.

The water was brown in the tub, toilet, sink. The bathtub looked like they had tried to refurbish it, but it didn’t work out. The A/C was not working properly in the room, or the lobby area. I don’t think it was working at all in the hallway. In spite of our rooms being outrageously high priced, breakfast was an additional $15 for adults and $10 for children which made it not an option for an out of town little league team.
