Courtyard by Marriott St. Petersburg Downtown

The valet here is amazing. Heather was super friendly and professional, helped me find a cigar bar and a few different restaurants. She gave great directions, always fast moving, never makes you wait long for your vehicle. Josh was not great in valet but he tried! The other lady that looks like Heather (don’t remember her name) was super nice as well! Max and Danielle at the front desk are on top of it. Even with the language barrier max did super well! Danielle knows this like the back of her hand and you can tell by how she carries herself! They bistro staff are awesome and the food is delicious, similar to that of a Panera bread! Thanks courtyard, we will be back!

I had a great stay, staff was amazing, helpful and friendly. I had breakfast in the morning and food was really good. The front desk staff was nice, thank you Brandi, Kadean and Wendy you were great!!

I stayed at the Courtyard Marriott St. Petersburg Downtown from December 5 to 7. The hotel itself was great. The room was comfortable, the location was convenient, and several staff members were kind and helpful. Unfortunately, the valet experience was uncomfortable. When I arrived early the morning of December 6 after checking in for the prior night, the main valet staff member was dismissive when questioning whether my room was ready. More concerning was how she spoke to her staff. On multiple occasions she berated and belittled them in front of guests, which felt very unprofessional. On the morning of my departure, she again scolded a staff member who was simply helping me with my bags, doing so directly in front of me and other employees. The valet staff assisting me were otherwise wonderful, but the behavior of this lead staff member negatively impacted the experience. Overall, a nice stay, but I hope management addresses this, as how staff are treated reflects strongly on the hotel.

Lovely historic building. Nice touch to provide coffee, tea, hot chocolate and oranges near the holidays.

Parking is too expensive.

First I would like to say that both Brian and April who work in the valet service did a wonderful job! They held doors for me in my wheelchair and helped in everyway possible to make my stay enjoyable. The lady on the midnight shift, Kadean, did an awesome job also! Kaden is more knowledgeable than the day shift persons and she is very friendly, if not for her i would have left and gone to another hotel! She was the one who helped the most. Some of the staff was rude and unhelpful. The cleaning people never changed mybsheets even though I made sure to take everything off the bed that was mine. They didn't vacuum or clean the bathroom floor. They restocked towels and took the garbage out. Once they made the bed. I was at the hotel from the 17th of December til the 28th. That's 11 days. The refridgerator temperature was lowered and all the food I had spoiled, fruit, milk... The manager said he was going to credit me $30 but he didnt do it. The afternoon staff person didnt appear to know what he was doing. He might be new. But he is left alone at the desk and he isnt ready for that yet. He had to keep calling someone and talking to them in Spanish to be told how to do simple things like print a reciept and I had to say things 3 times and he still didnt understand. I feel bad for him. He needs better training. The hotel itself is nice and clean in the common areas. The room was adequate. The problem is the staff. They kept telling me my card wasnt going thru. But the person on midnights knew what to do and fixed the issue. On top of that someone kept putting $1 charges on the card several times throughout my stay. I dont know why. But I am charged an i termational fee everytime the card is run. When I mentioned it to the manager he said know one here would do that. But they did.

This Courtyard is in an ideal location for work in St. Petersburg. The employees inside and outside are really terrific. The rooms are clean and comfortable. It is very nice for an older facility. All on-site parking is valet and I found April and Brian both very helpful and nice. I have a big vehicle and I felt very comfortable with them taking care of it.

Great location, easy walk down to the pier/restaurant/bars. Dali museum is 25 min walk or 10 ride. April and Brian in Valet were terrific as was the front office staff. Highly recommend this hotel.

April and Brian at the Valet stand were very friendly, helpful, and welcoming. They took special care to unload all our luggage and park our vehicle up front. We initially left several fishing poles in the vehicle but April thought it would be safer if we took them out and had them held at the front desk. Even though Brian was now off duty, he made the extra effort to come up to our room to suggest we remove the fishing poles and then helped us take them out of the vehicle and he took them to the front desk and tagged them for us to clam later. Brian also took our luggage to the room and patiently waited to deliver it when it was discovered that we were accidentally put into the wrong type of room. Brian even hung up my jacket. Both April and Brian were very friendly and considerate and patient. We have been coming to this hotel for about 20 years and have gotten to know various staff through the years such as the head of housekeeping, Yole. Yole does a great job supervising Housekeeping and her husband, Sergio, is head of Maintenance and does a very good job maintaining the hotel. The front desk staff is always friendly and helpful as well as the people working in the Bistro. Overall, the staff at this hotel are a shining example of the wonderful service Marriott seeks to provide at all its hotels.
