Ghent Marriott Hotel

Stayed one night at the Gent Mariott. From arriving till check out was a great stay. The location is perfect, on the Korenlei. Check in/ out went very smooth with friendly, attentive service. I booked a room with canal view. Modern, subtle decorated and very clean. Almost no noise from outside, with the exeption from one small party boat after midnight for a couple of minutes. I had a lovely dinner next to the water. The waiter truly knew what hospitality means, and the meal was great. Breakfast was fine. Lots of choices on the buffet. I will choose this hotel again if I need a stay in Gent again

The hotel was spotless and well maintained. The front desk staff were lovely and the breakfast was great quality and the chef was very attentive as well. Couldn’t fault the stay, perfect set up for a family of 4 with spacious family room.

When I booked this hotel for a birthday trip for my wife & I, I wasn't warned (at the time) that I had booked for the period of the Ghent Festival. I was also not prewarned tat, I had booked & paid for one of the hotels premium rooms, overlooking the river. I should have appreciated the information that this room, although scenic, was directly over the "Pole Pole" stage where blindingly loud, very bass-beat heavy music would be going on to 2.30 every morning! after the first night admittedly the hotel did offer to move us to what they said, would be a slightly quieter room but no mention was made of refunding the premium that I had already paid. So beware, out of festival period, pleasant hotel, convenient for Old Town. During Festival - pack your ear plugs!

A beautiful hotel in the heart of Ghent. We visited for the weekend and we were not disappointed. Ghent festival was on during our visit, which was an added bonus…. We will definitely be back. Beautiful city, fantastic hotel; clean, with large refurbed rooms. convenient location with wonderful staff.

Absolutely loved our stay at Marriott hotel. We were here for a long weekend as our son was playing in the Ghent festival. We requested a quiet room, so were at the back of the hotel. This was great as not too affected by the noise of the festival when going to bed. The hotel was very clean, our room was spacious with very comfortable beds. The hotel food and service were very good. We will definitely return next year. Highly recommend.

Our recent stay at the Ghent Marriott was absolutely amazing. The location of the hotel is impeccable and the rooms are very well equipped. The team were extremely helpful and hospitable. Special mention to Juncal and her outstanding Front Office team. Katrien at the reception was especially helpful and very kind.

I had a great experience at the Marriott, thanks to Katrien and Jasmien at the front desk. They were incredibly friendly, helpful, and professional. Check-in was smooth, and they made me feel very welcome from the start. Their warm attitude and attention to detail truly made a difference. Wonderful service!

As highlighted, thebhotel's location in the city centre by the river is superb. It's the perfect base for checking out Ghent on foot. My check-in with Merel was a highlight. Despite it being past her finishing time, she dealt patiently with a payment issue that arose and resolved it in a way that makes Marriott stand out as a brand. Jasmien was also very helpful and pleasant at checkout today when I left. I was a little disappointed with breakfast overall. Just not enough of a selection for me although that might be influenced by the wide choice in comparison I've just had at the Brussels Marriott each morning. The executive room I was upgraded to for my Elite status in Ghent was beautiful and not having a waterside view took nothing away from how nice it was. Renovation noise was not a factor on the fifth floor at any time. The only downside was the Bonvoy app booking stating cancellation could be made up to 23.59 the day before and yet I couldn't take advantage of a room rate reduction three hours before that without incurring a cancellation fee. A disappointing and surprising inconsistency. Definitely would go back irrespective.

The hotel is right in the city center. It is surrounded by restaurants and beautiful historic buildings. Our hotel room was large, came with a couch, and the AC worked great. It also had a closet to hang your clothes and lots of drawers. In addition, the bathroom is nice and big and you have some counter space to put your stuff. I totally recommend it!
