When I arrived, my room was under short maintenance (5 minutes), and Jasmien immediately offered me a complimentary drink. She kindly upgraded me to a beautiful room with stunning views of the canal. Her kindness, attention to detail, and warm personality truly made my stay unforgettable. Thank you so much, Jasmien, for turning a minor inconvenience into a lovely welcome experience!

I stay often at the Ghent Marriott Hotel, and each time has been nothing short of amazing. I would absolutely recommend this hotel to anyone visiting the city. The property itself is beautiful — clean, comfortable, perfectly located, and recently renovated — but what truly sets it apart is the outstanding service at reception. The front desk team deserves special recognition. They’re not only professional and efficient, but also genuinely friendly, attentive, and always ready to help. They consistently go above and beyond to make me feel at home. A special mention to Katrien, Jasmien and Juncal who are incredibly kind and make every interaction an absolute pleasure. It’s rare to find such warm, personable hospitality — and it truly makes a difference. Whether you’re visiting for business or leisure, Ghent Marriott Hotel offers a perfect combination of comfort and top-tier service. The Presidential Suite at this hotel (there’s only one) has the most incredible view from a room I’ve ever had in my life. You can see the entire river from both sides of the suite and it’s breathtaking. My Father and I spent quite a bit of time at the windows just taking in the incredible views. The lobby and dining area is luxurious and very spacious, especially for European standards. If you’re lucky enough to have the man from Cyprus as your bartender in the lobby bar, ask for him to make you and Old Fashioned, one of the best I’ve ever had in my life! When you step out the back of the hotel, you’re literally at the river and the hotel has a designated area for you to enjoy drinks and food waterside. I highly recommend this hotel! It’s only a 15-minute drive from the train station.

Call the hotel to get the address to get here if arriving by car. It was impossible to find the road to get to the hotel. And the address on the Internet wont get you on the side road. The address found on the internet. Side alley to go behind or to property. Valet your car with them. Otherwise, the convenience of activities cant be beat. We felt safe. Great experience otherwise.

The hotel was in such a beautiful location and it was beautiful! The staff was the best! An employee named Lou checked us in and she was very welcoming and very informative. Another employee that was very friendly was named Frank. I will definitely stay here again on my next visit.

This hotel is not close to the city center, it IS the city center. You always admire the classic Gent picture of old houses at a canal, the Marriott is one of those houses. Old on the outside, top modern inside, this is a great hotel to discover Gent. Everything is in a walkable distance and if you book a room with canal view, your last view in the evening and first in the morning is the old city of Gent. Staff is super super friendly, great bar, good breakfast and a Steak house inside. Perfect for a quick escape.

Do not stay here during construction unless you want to be awoken at 9am with deafening jackhammers that shake the room. Noise all day could not sleep in or relax in the room. Very bad experience and apathetic response from staff. Goes from 8am to 6pm.

Not perfect, but ok. We loved the location and the staff was very pleasant. We had booked a canal view room, and there was a problem for the 1st night, the room was not available. They compensated us with a gift certificate for their restaurant, and even though it was not the type of food we were looking for, it was a very nice dinner. As others mentioned, due to the construction, the hotel is pretty noisy during the day. If you're hoping for a rest or a nap during the day, this is not the right hotel for you. Although the rooms have been recently modernized, the floors are very sqweeky, I don't understand why. The breakfast is ok, not the best we ever had but not bad. There are lots of cheaper alternatives close by.
