Sleep Inn South Bend Airport

As a travel agent, I have been to many hotels. I have NEVER walked out after checking in. It was scary to go in, people who looked like they lived there standing near door-and it was to welcome guests. Elevator not working, pool dry and dirty. After front desk staff found us ground floor room for my elderly mother, it was dirty. Dead bugs on carpet; dirty bedspread; smelled, not in a good way. We walked out. And getting assistance for refund from Choice Hotels has been a joke. Too bad...I always like their brand.

The staff were friendly and extremely helpful throughout my stay. I’ll stay there again if I pass through South Bend again.

The property was no frills but our room was clean and comfortable and that’s all we wanted! I would stay there again.

This hotel should be shut down and condemned. As mentioned in other reviews, the pictures are completely fake. It’s an absolute dump and not safe! The sign outside says it has an indoor pool, which is true, except there is a dept of safety sign on the pool door that says it could give you a disease - not a joke. This hotel ranks #1 as to the worst place I’ve ever stayed. Scary.

The picture of the hotel is not accurate. It looks today like an old Soviet building left over from the past. Concrete, not painted. The area is scary. I was uncomfortable getting out of my car to check in but had nowhere else to go. Staff was pleasant. Very hot throughout the hotel. Stains throughout the hotel carpeting. It appears that it is ready to close and no one is updating it. The ice machine was broken. The pool was empty. No regular coffee, just decaf. Laundry was out of service. Snack machine contained one package of Cheetos and one box of Bounce. TV didn't work.

STAY AWAY !!! Fake pictures! Fake pictures! Don’t trust the pictures! ! Stinks ! Fruit flies 🪰 are in lobby in rooms , dirty towels and bed sheets - STAY AWAY - please trust me !!! This is tremendous offers ! I trusted this brand “ sleep inn but this is more than scam . I have paid 110$ for hotel not worth even 10 $ dear customers STAY AWAY !!!! This is true!!!

Zero facial towels or wash cloths. There was a big leak under the sink for which we had to put the trash basket to catch the leaking water whenever we used the sink. We could hear every step in the room above ours which interfered with our sleep. This place is run by a manager who cuts corners and isn't engaged which is reflected in the issues mentioned above. Stay away from this place.

Expedia should no longer list this property. It appears to be temporary shelter for homeless. We registered but then immediately left as we considered the facility to be totally unsafe. I will not pay for the roo.
