Hampton Inn Hays-North of I-70

The staff was friendly. The bed was comfortable. Food was good. Pool was nice.

The staff was exceptional. the counter person was so friendly but sorry I don't remember her name. We visited with family in the lobby and she was so fun and engaging with our group.

The facility is a bit run down. The front panel on the AC unit was falling off. The TV didn't work and generally the place looks like it needs some TLC.

As expected. Selection and quantity.

The location

The pillows wasn't that good, but the major problem was the air conditioner was so loud, that everytime I woke up with the noise.

Location right off the freeway. Plenty of dining options neaby. Comfortable bed and hot shower. Staff friendly.

Remote was sticky (not cleaned) and doors could use better cleaning as well as vacuum on flooring. The pillows not great and breakfast not as good as other Hampton Inn stays. Could use updated carts for moving luggage to rooms (only one big one was available and it was rickity) and two others available during a busy check out time so people had to wait to unload their rooms. The window covering was broken on our first room so we got another room.

This is a clean, attractive hotel with functional rooms, a spacious and well kept breakfast area and courteous staff. Unfortunately, we had a major problem with an incessantly barking dog in the adjacent room. Front desk staff politely explained that their hands were tied. Due to Hilton’s “pet friendly policy” they were prohibited from moving the dog, and similarly prevented from telling the guests to control their pet. The only consolation was that they offered to let us move to a quieter room with their assistance. As long as this absurd policy is in place, we intend never to stay at another Hampton Inn or other Hilton property. Pets are apparently a priority over people here. We have since found other “pet friendly” chains that require owners to control their dogs and will even order pet removal in extreme cases.
