Supalai Scenic Bay Resort And Spa

We stayed at the Supalai Scenic Bay Resort & Spa for 1-night in early-Feb (B2,372; $92 Can/night). The Supalai is a 1980's era resort that sprawls in 3-floors across a steep hill, with scenic bay views over a large pool immediately below and beach access much further below across the road. We chose the resort for its easy access to Bang Rong Pier for our trip to Koh Yao Noi Island the next day. Our Grand Deluxe Double room was was large and comfortable, fronted by a deck facing a grassy, treed area with reasonable but obstructed views of the bay. The bathroom was large, with plenty of vanity space, a bathtub and a separate shower enclosure. While the furniture was new and nicely maintained, the room had a tired, neglected feel, with some electrical outlets lacked face-plates showing exposed wires, almost empty shampoo and soap dispensers, etc. Breakfast was the poorest on our trip. There was a large selection of Thai dishes but, with the exception of Pad Thai, they were overcooked and tough. Fruit was limited to watermelon and cantaloup, and there was no yoghurt. We had no time to use the pool, but by 10 am, almost all of the loungers were taken. The location is remote, which allows an ambience of insect and animal noises at night, but there were no convenience stores or shops nearby. The resort did offer a shuttle into Phuket, and posted a ferry schedule for nearby islands. Overall, the resort provides good value for the price for a 1-night stay close to the airport or ferry, but would be poor for for a longer, destination stay.

It is nice hotel, very nice and quiet area. Nice view. Just one thing, it's a bit far from everywhere.But if u don't like a busy areas, this hotel is just perfect. They have small shop there, small bar and bar at the pool too.

We stayed 3 nights here. Very quiet Our room, 336, had a lovely jungle area in front where we could watch the eagles soar at sunrise. Our room was big with great views across the Bay. The pools are good..food is fairly average, as is the service. Except for Hari in the kitchen.. a superb waiter and host. The resort needs a face lift but it's okay value. Much better than noisy resorts in more popular locations. Don't expect anything spectacular, but it's very clean and relaxing. Beach area down below the hill is cute. It's tidal, so cool low tide beach life watching. Amazing views of the bay.

If you’re looking for a nice quiet place this works well. However, if you have any limitations in terms of climbing hills or stairs then this place would not work well for you

Only stopped the one night, as we was moving on to one of the islands. The staff was friendly and a nice pool, shame I didn’t have time to enjoy it.

It was a good experience, an escape of a busy city in Hk. Hust make sure to rent your own car as the location is in the hillside . Convenience store drop off if you want some goodies. Very affordable place , and fantastic view overlooking the sea and the mountain 🧘‍♀️👍🏻.

Feena and Nood were very helpful at reception! We were helped to organise a taxi and it definitely made the trip a lot more enjoyable! We met a lady called Pla served us a drink on arrival and it was amazing. When coming back from the town, we were able to go to the restarting and had some authentic Thai food which was both affordable and delicious. Gaeed served us and we had a lovely chat to him. Overall the staff make this trip really enjoyable/ we highly reccomend.
