"Wonder Hotel"

"Repeat visit"

There were no accessible rooms available when I booked so I chose a Signature room, which I have had before as a 'healthy' adult a few years ago at the time of my first visit. It was a bit cramped, given I had a wheelchair this time, but that was not the fault of the room. The bathroom was fine and the cleaner did a good job. Where I struggled, and again not the room's fault, was the design of the beds. It was a big bed but they have a 'rim' round the edge lower than the mattress, a design feature, but which did not suit me. I struggled to get into bed because of this extra padding jutting out (wide enough to sit on). Again, I emphasise, not the room's fault. I can only assume there is a different style of bed in the accessible rooms. The rest of the hotel experience was very good. Very attentive staff in both restaurant and breakfast shifts. Good choice on the menu. A lovely calming atmosphere in the restaurant itself. The location at South Queensferry is excellent and gives lots of options if you want to go west to Glasgow, north to the Highlands, east to Edinburgh or south to the Borders. I stayed 5 nights and wish there were more storage options for clothes in the room, but to be fair I think the hotel's target audience are business people en route to flights from Edinburgh airport, or overnight tour buses so single night guest stays being the norm. The hotel is not noisy at all if any tour groups happen to be in. You never have to wait for a lift to arrive and they are large capacity. I've also rented a suite from this hotel in the past and it was a lovely, indulgence. Expensive, but you could argue worth it.

"Idealer Standort"

Sehr gute Lage für alle die die Drehorte vom Outlander besuchen, oder einfach etwas abseits vom Trubel der Innenstadt sein möchten. Das Personal ist sehr hilfsbereit und freundlich. Das Zimmer hatte unsere Erwartungen getroffen.

Der Eingangsbereich sowie das gesamte Hotel wirkte zunächst bei der Ankunft am Abend etwas dunkel. Dieses Gefühl legte sich mit der Zeit.

"Could of been better."

The room was amazing I stayed one night in the junior suite for my partners birthday, however the restaurant let the whole experience down. The night we went to the restaurant for dinner the server took our order of drinks which was Wine, sparkling water, still water with ice and 2 glasses of champagne then the wine was brought to the table on its own, Then a short while later another server came to see if we needed drinks I then explained that we are still waiting for the champagne and water. Then they brought the champagne but no water. At this point I then had to get the attention of a 3rd server to go and get the sparkling water, still water and ice then they brought the water without ice at this point I was fed up waiting for the ice so did without! Then the next morning we got to breakfast at 9:50 giving us 40 mins which we thought was more than sufficient. We then joined the line along with other couples there were multiple staff members in the restaurant none of them came over then eventually someone came and said “I take it someone is looking after you” we said no she then went to get another member of staff to seat us. By the time we were seated it was about 10 o’clock. I then was given a menu and was told that this was for hot food and the cold breakfast food was help your self, So we ordered a full breakfast and scrambled egg on toast and went to get our cold food then we sat down with our cold breakfast food and then the server arrived with the hot food as soon as I sat down before I even had time to eat my cold food and realised there was no room on the table and said she would take our food away once we finished our cold food I then smiled at the same server thinking she would realised I was looking for the breakfast she took away but she walked straight past me, Then I got someone to go and get the food which was then brought out the scrambled egg was on bread that was now soggy and my breakfast was lukewarm. I feel after spending a substantial amount of money on this stay I thought the service was poor and the staff were not trained properly and this let the stay down.

"ONE NIGHT AT THE END OF A WONDERFUL TRIP."

What a delightful, classy hotel to end our 2 weeks in Scotland before we fly back to Chicago in the morning. The lobby, the room, the staff, especially Julian, our shuttle bus driver were first rate. He saved us from having to get a taxi or an Uber after dropping our rental car at Avis! What an unforgettable experience!

"We were thoroughly impressed with all the staff during our short stay."

We only stayed the 1 night as we were catching a flight the next day. We were very impressed with how welcoming, polite and helpful all the hotel staff was. We loved our room and the size of the bathroom. The beds and pillows were comfortable and we both had a good nights sleep. We took the courtesy shuttle to the airport the next morning driven by Craig. He was very courteous and helpful and engaged us in conversation on the drive.
