Very clean and comfortable

No fridge

Breakfasts were superb and cooked to order (not buffet). The grounds are fabulous with lots of different areas to give our dog a late night stroll. Dog was allowed everywhere except the restaurant and we could have breakfast on the terrace or in the bar

We had to book a "Lodge" room because those are the "dog" rooms. Our room was very small with no space for a bedside table on one side of the bed (very inconvenient) and on the other side I had to squeeze through a 6 inch gap between the bed and a table. It was nice to be in a separate building on the ground floor and very easy to come and go

I was dksappointed in my room in the lodge, having had a beautiful room in the mansion house on a previous occasion. My car got scratched and had some chewing gum stuck on the window in the carpark, despite trying to put it somewhere safe. There are no cameras and this would put me off of further stays. The rooms in the newer lodge building is nowhere near as nice as the main house. Some aspects of the finish and decor of the lodge building are a little tired. it also eels anodyne and lacks any character.

Serene and beautiful location. Very friendly reception staff. Rooms are clean. Shower’s hot. Beds are so comfortable! Gardens are well maintained and beautiful end of May time!

The only thing, which is often down to personal preference, was that our pillows were so massive that my husband and I ended up sleeping without them as they craned our necks too much! 😆
