Arenal Manoa & Hot Springs Resort

We had an amazing stay at Arenal Manoa. We stayed in one of the new villas. Stunning!! We enjoyed time in our private pool/patio every afternoon. The staff was incredibly friendly Breakfast buffet was fantastic (and nice that they offered a very early morning light breakfast for the day we had an early morning excursion). We enjoyed the hot springs in the evening. Beautiful property very conveniently located!

Brilliant stay. Staff were lovely and very kind and attentive. The room was great and felt very private with a beautiful view out of the window of trees and plants. Pool and hot springs were beautiful and very quiet so we were able to enjoy these. Breakfast was delicious. Very accommodating of children with a play table in the dining area and very accommodating to specific food requests. The tours arranged by the hotel were also great. Overall a wonderful stay.

From the moment we arrived, the warmth and professionalism of the staff were present. Angelica at the front desk and Michael the bellhop were true standouts—their attentiveness and genuine care made us feel well supported from check‑in through departure. They elevated our appreciation for the entire team. The property itself is stunning, surrounded by lush greenery with beautiful volcano views from all angles. Because this was a last‑minute booking, we had to switch rooms, allowing us to experience several different rooms and accommodations. Each offered a unique perspective of the grounds, but the rooms felt fairly standard compared to the beauty of the property overall. The lack of a gym was also disappointing. The highlight of our stay was the Chato Suite. The private outdoor oasis, with its own thermal pool and superb white glove treatment were unforgettable and absolutely worth the premium price. By comparison, the Premium Suite was fine but awkwardly designed, with a Jacuzzi that doubled as a shower that was difficult to get in and out of. Our final room, a Junior Suite, felt like a typical hotel room, though the volcano view remained its best feature. I expected a difference in accommodations, but with each change the downgrade was noticeable, and the basics were not consistent. Overall, while the rooms themselves were not extraordinary and the absence of a gym stood out, the property’s natural beauty, peaceful surroundings, volcano views, and exceptional staff—especially Angelica and Michael—made this stay memorable. The setting and service shine far brighter than the accommodations, leaving us with lasting gratitude for the experience.

The thermal pools were fantastic. Very relaxing. The junior suite was also fantastic.

The food was not great and overpriced.

The Hotel Arenal Manoa in La Fortuna is located on a beautiful acreage of land. The grounds are exquisite and clean. We enjoyed some of the hot springs although they weren’t very hot. You can feel safe walking the many paths throughout the resort. The staff and service were very good and accommodating. The food was good but VERY expensive. Our room was very dated. The shower was a challenge while working the handles, the mattress was uncomfortable, the headboard would bang the wall if you turned over, no USB ports, no English speaking TV channels. For what they charge a night we expected a room that was updated!!! We would not recommend this resort

The location was wonderful. The view of the volcano was perfect, waking up every morning looking through the big glass doors was wonderful.
