Hotel Lomas del Volcán

This resort was beyond our expectations. Our King Deluxe Bungalow with a balcony was very private and beautiful. We saw monkeys, tucans, and other birds & animals right on the property. The best decision we made upon arrival was to book massages for our first full day, a perfect way to relax. The property is exceptionally well-maintained and offers wonderful amenities, including two large pools, a luxurious spa hut in the jungle, plus a jungle trail on their own 370-acre private property. The resort is about a 5-minute drive to the town of La Fortuna, which offers many restaurants and souvenir shops. Both taxis and Uber are available. The only thing I would do differently is to spend more time at this resort.

Reception staff was a bit curt. Wi-Fi was a big mess and the staff had no clue what was wrong or how to fix it. Food and drinks were over priced for the pretty average fare. Pool was awesome! Rooms and campus were spectacular - particularly the view of Arenal right behind the hotel.

This hotel was a pleasant surprise. A true oasis in the jungle yet in close proximity to town and other activities. The staff at the front desk were so helpful with tour suggestions and other locations for my husband, who is a wildlife photographer, to get some pictures. The bar and restaurant staff were amazing. Everyone is so positive and welcoming. Lomas is a true gem. We'll be back.

Amazing place to stay, breakfast was AmAZING! The location was so beautiful way exceeded expectations. Lovely swim up pool bar was a Bonus. Perfect little bungalow and a great trail seeing lots of birds and monkeys in the mornings!

The location of the hotel is absolutely amazing!! My wife and I went here for our honeymoon and really enjoyed the room with our private jacuzzi. The only downside was we went during rainy season and they were doing renovations and a little understaffed it felt like. The swim up bar wasn’t staffed when we were there and the staff just always felt too busy to stop and help us (which is not the staffs fault they were just simply understaffed). Overall we recommend going during “rainy season” as it wasn’t crowded at all just wish a few more people were working! Lastly, want to highlight Manrique who was our bartender for unfortunately only one night. He was so full of joy and just so nice to us! I wish he was there every day!!

Solo travelers - come here! It’s a paradise! The culinary is excellent and the staff here are congenial and attentive. My bungalow quite cozy with the hot tub ! I will return !!

The site is beautiful and the staff were very kind and helpful. The cabins are lovely - private and with amazing views of the Arenal volcano.
