City Hotel Mercator

Even though the hotel is located away from the action, it is fairly easy and quick to reach the more desirable areas of Frankfurt. That makes it a good choice, for it is comfortable and more reasonably priced. Breakfast is very good, recommended extra. Wi-fi internet is a bit complicated system, you must get a ticket from the front office every day and it expires frequently.

Stayed here for 3 nights during October 20015. The hotel looked a bit tatty from the outside, but we were pleasantly surprised when we entered. check in was quick and all the staff we met were very friendly and helpful. Our breakfast was not included in the price but we did pay extra for breakfast which was very good value, buffet style help yourself continental breakfast. The room we booked was a twin, and we had a double bed and a single. The ensuite room was very clean and tidy and equipped with a hairdryer, fan and mini ironing board, but no kettle.

I booked a number of rooms for family for a couple of days. The reception was helpful, especially in requesting taxis to the airport and understanding what was around the immediate area. The rooms were clean and comfortable. My family really like the area. They appreciated that there was a Rewe supermarket nearby as they needed to prepare their own breakfast due to dietary constraints. The price was very affordable and perfect if you just needed a place to sleep. Our only complaint was that the cleaning staff was very rude. When I came to pick up my family I called for the elevator and when I opened the door a cleaning staff member was quite upset that I wanted to use the elevator to get to family's room 3 floors up. I spoke to my other family members and their only complaint was the attitude of the cleaning staff. Other than that, it was a good place to stay.

Good little hotel, close to U-bahn, restaurants within three block walk, GOOD Breakfast. Bed pillows to small and too soft.

Good location (near to market place and train stations - walk to the stations is pretty good as well with a park in between), friendly staff and nice rooms. There is no Airconditioner in the hotel so during summers it can be pretty warm. However rooms do have electrical fans. Overall good value for money and recommended

Dated and a bit rundown....but reasonable value. Easy to find, tram or taxi, interesting neighbourhood of bookshops, cafes and restaurants. GOOD FUN FOR AN URBAN EXPLORER

I travelled to other locations in Europe. The room rate for the Mercator was about the same but the standard was so much higher. Better furnishing, better locks!

We were able to walk to Romer district and across the Main river. Quiet neighbourhood just beyond the shops and restaurants.

Nice hotel, bordering the city center in a nice area, good breakfast, goog attention and very clean.
