Vila Baleira Suites

Everything ! Since location to comfy beds andb.

A great hotel situated right on the beach at the quieter end of the island. We had a good sized apartment, with a bedroom with very big double bed and large wardrobe, a good sized living room with sofa, table and small kitchen area, and a bathroom with shower over the bath. It looked like our room had recently been decorated, as the paintwork was very clean. The breakfast was great, with plenty of hot or cold items to choose from. The beach immediately in front of the hotel was very quiet when we were there (mid May) and there were always sun beds available when we wanted them. Beach towels were provided in the bedrooms. Staff were friendly and helpful. We were very happy with the room and facilities for the price we paid.

Our room lock was difficult to open with the key at times, and there were a couple of minor plumbing issues in the bathroom. We reported these when we left, so hopefully they will be resolved for the next guests. We had a "mountain view" room, which overlooks the road. Unfortunately there were roadworks going on for the duration of our stay. This, of course, was no fault of the hotel and, as they didn't start till 0800 each day, we were already up by then. They are probably gone by now anyway!

We enjoyed our stay

Following an accident that meant I was unable to ski, we decided on a trip to Madeira over New Year. Whilst researching, I was captivated by the beautiful island of Porto Santo that I had never heard of. We got the ferry over and stayed at the Vila Baleria Suites. The location is absolutely perfect fronting onto the must incredible (and quiet) beach you could imagine. There are few paradise islands that could compete!! We had a wonderful few days exploring the island on e-bikes, diving and sampling some exceptional food (Torres Restaurant was epic). The Vila Baleria group are investing heavily in the locality with new accommodation under construction. There was a mix up with the bill, but here is the thing. Mistakes always happen however careful you are. How you address them defines a business? Bruno Martins the general manager and Goncalo Teixeira were exceptional and define customer service. Thank you to both and we look forward to seeing you again soon.
