Sunstays Lagoon Beach

This is a suites hotel. We had a 2-bedroom suite with an ocean view. While our room was nice with a spacious balcony, the building appeared to be under a great deal of repair. The hotel is located on a beach but is not ideal if you want to spend time in Cape Town proper. Also, the surrounding neighbourhood is not attractive for walking and safety may be a concern. On the other hand, if the goal is to be on the beach, especially in the summer, and surf then this may be suitable for you.

I strongly recommend this hotel which is on the beach. Overall, it is a good hotel and the only minor draw back is that it is about 10 to 15 minutes from downtown but the hotel provides a shuttle for a reasonable price. I stayed in a two bedroom apartment for eight nights, and would definitely stay again in the same hotel on my next visit. Finally, I can only say that the hotel in reality is better than the pictures I've seen when I made the reservations.

I stayed in what I thought was a hotel but was in reality a two bedroomed apartment in a complex 14kms out of Cape town. If you haven't got your own transport then it's a hotel recommended taxi to and from town but you'll get cheaper taxis by using one in the city centre and then taking the guy's number. They will come back and pick you up when you need them. The complex has no dining facilities so if you want breakfast or an evening meal without travelling you have to go to the neighbouring hotel, which is very good but it's still a walk next door. Next time i'll go somewhere closer to CT.

Superb value-two bed apartment on beach, without intervening road. Five minutes drive to V and A waterfront. Patrolled beach with secure parking. Staff very friendly and helpful and two or three good value restaurants very close. Spa was good too although a bit of hard sell on products. Can't beat this block on all round value, comofrt and location. Superb.
