"SCARY, NOT CLEAN"

BAD NEWS! Mold EVERYWHERE On tub AND SHOWER- NOT just a little, RUST DRIPPING off of air VENTS, BEDS made mm HORRIBLY- the sheets were not pulled up, but wadded up, the COVERS felt like "BRILLO" PADS, TOWELS WERE old and worn thin, DOGS in room next door INCESSANTLY barking about 6 am, FLOORS WERE DEFINITELY not scrubbed clean, especially in bathroom, POOL AVAILABLE AND HOT TUB- IF YOU do not mind about Thousand crickets SUCKED IN, AND DIRT IN THE BOTTOM THAT LOOKED LIKE mold or scum (TV WORKED AND DESK CLERKS WERE COURTEOUS)

"Old and tired hotel"

This is a very tired Hampton Inn. It desperately needs a remodel. Curtains had a rip in them, grout on the bathroom floor were very dirty. Shower was well used, in need of a remodel. Furnishings are old, banged up and in need of replacing. On the plus side, the staff was friendly and helpful, breakfast was a standard Hampton inn offering. If there was another Hilton property in Altus, I would definitely not stay at this hotel. Hilton, if you are listening, either remodel or demolish this hotel property!!!

I was there for 11 days if I could have stayed somewhere else I would have done that. The rooms are not to par for a Hilton Brand. The blankets and pillow have yellow stains. The wallpaper of the bathroom are peeling away and the caulking around the bathtub by the wall it is all cracked and the bathtub stopper was off. The AC cover in the room was hanging off, when I called the attendant to let them know they said they would send the technician. It was until 30-45 minutes after to check he was like I looked for him but I guess he is gone!! This is one place I will never stay again. Highly disappointed!!!

"Great breakfast and morning staff, chronically non-functional pool/hotub"

Allie, the morning receptionist was unbelievably patient and worked to make our stay more comfortable and accommodating for our health needs. Casey, the breakfast attendant was very welcoming and helpful both mornings we were there and the area was clean and fully stocked with hot and cold breakfast foods like omlettes, sausages/bacon, and country style potatoes, waffles with about 15 types of toppings, oatmeal, cereal, pastries, yogurts, fresh fruit and pre-made breakfast to go bags. They also offered about 10 types of hot tea, coffee, and a few cold juices and milk. The breakfast/sitting area was spacious and comfortable with a 20' ceiling, lots of sunlight, several seating choices and a fireplace. The room ac went down to 65° with a fan that was strong and quiet. The bed and pillows were comfortable; the latter had polyfill and feather options with varying firmness. Everything was clean. There were fully stocked coffee area and ice buckets above the minifridge. The TV had 48 free channels with several movie options. The minifridge was clean and cold upon arrival. The bathtub in our room was clean, had several sturdy grab bars and plenty of hot water with good pressure. There were full-sized bottles of pleasantly-scented shampoo, conditioner, and shower gel all mounted conveniently on the bathtub wall. There were also hand soaps and tissues available. The hotel had a nice smoking area, a dog walking area, and table and chairs outside the pool on the west side of the hotel. Once, when getting something from the car, a cat was visibly sunning in the windowsill of a 1st floor room so the hotel allows pets. The morning front desk staff on Monday, (regrettably I didn't get his name) was nice and helpful. When I relayed my experience of the hotel to him, he suggested I leave a thorough review online to make sure the information was as constructive as possible. Overall, Allie and Casey redeemed the stay for us.

The first point of contact as evening receptionist, Tristan, was at best disinterested and instantly made me regret choosing this hotel and I contemplated leaving. I called before booking to confirm the pool and hot tub worked. The front desk reported they did at the time so I booked. Upon checking in, he let me know they were both down. Those amenities were the only reason I picked this hotel as it was considerably more expensive than other hotels with similar options but no pool/hot tub. A guest who travels through several times every year stated the pool/hot tub has been out of order most of their stays. Having chronic pain issues, I tried to get a room with a bathtub and Tristan was incredibly unhelpful and I had to reference the 3 signs on the front desk counter stating that the hotel's policy is to guarantee 100% happiness with the stay or they would work to make it right (see photo). He apparently thought that was optional and acted as if he resented having to interact with a customer. I don't know if he's related to the owner or not, but his behavior was reminiscent of the downside of nepotism. I could tell he had no motivation to help me. I requested he call his manager. Unfortunately, he was either unwilling or unable to help me and I was exhausted from the trip so waited to talk to someone else who was willing to help. The other times I went down by the entrance in the evening the remainder of the stay (probably ~15 times), Tristan was on his phone away from the front desk, lounging in the breakfast area, and didn't look up or acknowledge me or my spouse. I thought possibly it was due to our initial interaction; however, the guest that frequently visits the area said that has been his regular behavior during this and previous stays. He isn't suited for interacting with the public. The sidewalks in the front (east side) had several raised corners/edges that would be unsafe for those with impaired mobility.

I wasn't able to stay at the Hampton Inn, even though my room was paid for days in advance and confirmed earlier that day. The hotel had some type of "water damage" and miraculously my room was the only one affected and it just so happened I was the last guest to check in for the night and the hotel was sold out. And this was after calling ahead and confirming my room and informing them that we would be super late getting there. At arrival, all I was given was a :sorry for your bad luck" by the poor 3rd shift person who had to deal with me. Wasn't her fault that Management or other employees left her holding the bag. The extra peculiar part, later that night I went to the hotel website after I had to find different accommodations. It wasn't showing "sold out". This little town has few options at 12 am. I read other Google reviews complaining about overbooking the hotel.
