The Temperance Inn, Ambleside - The Inn Collection Group

I had a lovely room on the top floor that was nice and quiet and well appointed. Bathroom was spacious.

Didn’t love the fact that I had to tromp up several flights of stairs to my room - but the flip side of that was the quiet. The inn is on top of a pub so rooms on lower floors may be more noisy.

The room was clean and well appointed.

The breakfast was good, full English was really nice although tge continental could ha e a slightly better selection.

Stayed two nights in a single room while in the Lakes to hike for a weekend and it had everything I needed for that short time. Comfortable rooms, thought a bit stuffy given the window in my room did not open more than few inches.

We were on the top floor which was 8 short flights of stairs. Would have preferred a lower floor but booked last minute.

Everything was superb but the staff went above and beyond with everything. Super helpful. Location is excellent and we parked in Lake Road Car Park. Cannot recommend highly enough.

The staff are really lovely. Every member was really welcoming and helpful throughout. The hotel has been through an excellent refurbishment. Very fine, traditional bar area and redecoration everywhere. Great breakfast options and service. Real ale options at the bar. Parking very close by. Great communication from the hotel and they were able to honour our request for twin beds.

The food menu is a bit funky for our taste! Modern, to be fair, but not vey interesting. The bedroom was practical, comfy beds, great shower, but the " brown" furniture was a bit old fashioned and gloomy compared with the excellent furniture and fittngs elsewhere. A very minot point which didn't spoil our stay - a note maybe for the next refurb!

good selection for breakfast and hot food well cooked . Evening meal selection very good and some unusual choices which were excellent.

We stayed in the cottage which is a bit creaky but still quiet. The bathroom needs more ledges or places to put toiletries etc and the room was quite small.
