"Beautiful colonial boutique hotel "

8.0

Meson is a very special hotel. The wonderful staff, the colonial building, the exquisite antiques, all added to the experience. Oh and the food! The only complaint (a minor one), was that there a persistent odd smell (old plumbing) that wafted out of the bathroom. We sprayed some essential oils daily so it wasn't that big of a deal. All in all wonderful hotel!

"Great Employees!"

6.0

Staff very helpful with information of the area and restaurant recommendations. Only meal we ate at the hotel was breakfast. Bacon was so crisp it was this same color as the black beans. One morning out of three it was cooked properly. Previous guest left disposable contact lens containers in the bathroom and housekeeping did not toss. Coffee machine in room but all plugs were about 10 or 12 feet away. Could not move the coffee maker to another location. This is not a botique hotel however it was comfortable and reasonably well located.

"Okay but..."

8.0

Okay hotel but very noisy if anyone is eating or drinking in courtyard. All noises travel directly to the rooms. Lots of uneven steps and uneven step levels in the room. Room had coffee maker and toiletries and a cool robe but not enough to overcome noise.

"Charming, atmospheric hotel"

8.0

The hotel is small and the rooms are both charming and atmospheric in a great location near the Zocalo. We had a memorable stay and would be happy to go back.

"I would recommend this hotel and location."

10.0

We stayed for 4 nights in January 2015. The hotel is in an area of antique shops, second hand stores, resterant and is about 2 blocks away from the zocalo. The decor had the charm of old Mexico. The staff was very responsive to our needs and requests. We enjoyed the restaurant.

"Delightful in every way!"

10.0

Delightful hotel on a charming little street in the historic center of Puebla. The room was beautifully decorated, and everything functioned as it should. A plate of cookies and sweets (for which Puebla is famous) awaited me in the room at check-in. Delicious and generous breakfast served in the funky pink-painted, antiques-filled courtyard. Lovely, attentive staff. Puebla is a gorgeous town, full of fascinating historic buildings, and I will return to this hotel the next time I visit.

"Perfect hotel, rude service"

10.0

Everything regarding the hotel was perfect but the front desk people was rude and tried to tricked us into paying a much more expensive rate than the one published in hotels.com, also they didn't honored the free breakfast mentioned in the fare.

"Go for the cooking class"

8.0

We booked this hotel to participate in their cooking class they offer. The staff involved with the cooking class is wonderful and that experience was fantastic. Our room was not luxurious by any means but very unique for a Mexican hotel. We did have issues with AC, hot water takes quite some time, keys for the doors are difficult to operate as they are very old skeleton keys. The food in the restaurant was very good though the servers were somewhat shortrude.
