Horizon Karon Beach Resort & Spa

I stayed in the hotel in Jan 2018 for 2 weeks. Very nice location in just 3 mins from the Karon and 15 mins from Kata beach, but the same time out of noisy road. Good food, happy hours with free drinks and snacks from 12 to 2 pm. Everything needed for the beach - umbrellas, towels etc.pools. Lots of flowers/palms/bananas to make the hotel surounding very green. Staff was very friendly and responsive. btw - as the hotel is located on the hill, there is a hotel's tuk-tuk to bring guests to and from the beach for free, you just need to call them. Hotel itself is not a very new, but it absolutely OK, real value for money

Overall the hotel was very nice, the pool was great and the grounds were well maintained. The exterior areas of the hotel could really benefit from a good pressure washing, they seemed worn and a smidgen dirty. The room was small (we were coming to Phuket after staying in Bangkok at much more spacious hotel) but had everything that we needed. We did encounter the inability to secure a lounge chair on most occasions that we went to the pool because people reserved them by throwing a towel on them but then stayed in the pool...only to grab the towel and leave after getting out of the pool (Even though management asked for people not to). I didn't feel like it was a super friendly hotel, but I think we're accustomed to staying in the Caribbean on vacation and they are much more geared towards American tourists and therefore are more of what we are used to. The staff was very nice anytime we needed assistance. Breakfast was an amazingly large diverse selection in a buffet style complete with an egg/omelette station. Delicious. The beach that was close by, down a little hill and reachable by Tuk-tuk or just a 5 minute walk. My kids really liked the tuk-tuk ride so we did that down the hill and mostly walked back up each time we went to the beach. Overall, I would stay here again if we were to venture to Thailand again...but Phuket would be a very short part of my stay in Thailand. The beach was ok, the food was awesome but the north of Thailand really is more of our style.

Great installation, quality food, services (shuttle, tuktuk) good gym and pool but above all wonderful adorable sweet professional staff everywhere

We loved this hotel! The staff was very friendly, the onsite restaurant had tons of great options (and live music every night, which was awesome!), and the spa was wonderful (pricier than a Thai massage you could get down the road, but this was probably nicer). There were two pool areas and a small playground for kids- this would be a great hotel for a family! The beach is a short walk down the hill, or you can take the hotel 'shuttle' (a tuk-tuk) to the bottom of the hill & cross the street - even though it's not beachfront, it's still very accessible. I read that the hotel offers a shuttle to anywhere within a 15-mile radius but we never looked into that... could be helpful though! Would definitely recommend!

This is a great hotel close to the beach! The facilities are a little outdated and a facelift would probably would move this into a five star category, but the whole staff are very friendly and attentive! The 2 managers I met U-RAI and AON where both very considered, friendly and always around to attend to our needs! The breakfast buffet was also great and the guys making omelets where always on the upbeat and pleasant as well as all the staff serving us, the lady who attended to our daily was always smiling and pleasant. I give the staff and service 5 Star because they deserve it! Altogether it is a great hotel!

We enjoyed the stay in Karon Horizon Beach. The hotel was clean, it has a lot of green around, we benefited from the nice pool. The restaurant is fair, the service is good and overall the whole set up is very good for families. We recomend it!

I booked this hotel for three friends and myself based on the impressive Expedia reviews. Our first impression of the hotel could not have been more disappointing. After travelling 15 hours from Australia, we arrived to find that they had allocated us the wrong room type (1 king bed instead of 2 queens). The staff proceeded to offer us stained/lumpy trundle beds and insisted there were no other rooms available. All of a sudden a room in the “privilege club” became available for a significant extra cost. When we insisted we didn’t want to pay extra for a superior room just because the hotel had stuffed up our booking (for which they blamed Expedia) the correct room “suddenly” became available. We felt totally scammed by the hotel and felt the reception staff were trying to take advantage of the fact we were 4 young girls travelling. Aside from this unfortunate incident the spa/restaurant/housekeeping staff were terrific and ensured the remainder of our stay was a good one.

We loved our stay here, the hotel is great and the staff are really helpful. Location is nice and quiet away from the hustle and bustle which is a short walk away allowing you to either completely relax or party all night if you wish.

Excellent staff, good facilities and variety at breakfast to suit all tastes. Issue with bedding was dealt with immediately.

Had a fantastic stay for our first visit to Thailand. Close to beach, shops, bars and restaurants. Staff at the Horizon could not do enough to help you and always with a smile 😊 . Pools were fab for young and old to cool off and swim up bar was most welcome! Buffet breakfast was a feast each day and has vege options which we needed. Would highly recommend this hotel.
