Old Downton Lodge

This was a gorgeous hotel with very friendly and efficient staff who couldn’t have been more helpful. I was on my own but I had to leave a bit early in the morning and they arranged for me to have an earlier breakfast. The decor was really lovely and it had a cosy feel. The bedroom was very comfortable as was the bed. The food was fabulous as was the whole dining experience which felt very personalised.

We loved the location. So peaceful. We loved the bathroom and the room.

The bed wasn’t very comfortable and we didn’t get great nights sleep. Also I was disappointed that they wouldn’t put the fire on in the bar area even though it was cold

What a beautiful place to stay at ! A real gem that we were lucky enough to stumble upon. We will certainly be back one day and recommend to all our friends. Faultless !!!!!!

Such a calm and relaxing place in an incredible setting. All the staff were extremely friendly and helpful and the attention to detail was very impressive. Breakfast was amazing and only surpassed by the evening meal we had there on our last night. Can’t wait to go back.

Have stayed here a few times, lovely ambience, relaxing, the staff are all so helpful, friendly and polite. The food in the restaurant was excellent. Ideal to start a country walk from the Old Downtown Lodge. Highly recommended.
