Absolutely the most disgusting and unsettling hotel I have ever stepped foot in. I booked one night at Travel Inn Fort Pierce and left within 45 minutes because the room was completely uninhabitable. The floors were filthy, the bed was covered in stains and black marks, there were long hairs on the pillows, and the entire space felt deeply unhygienic and neglected. What pushed me out the door was the safety issue. The metal door looked like it had been kicked in and pried open multiple times and the lock felt flimsy and unreliable. As a solo female traveler, I felt genuinely unsafe and decided I would be better off sleeping in my car than staying there — which is exactly what I did. The staff member who checked me in was rude and annoyed at my late arrival, and the property itself is severely misrepresented online. The photos make it look clean and decent, but the reality is a rundown, dirty, and frankly alarming place to stay. To no surprise, they have completely avoided answering calls or responding to my refund request. There are signs all over the property stating “no refunds under any circumstances,” which should have been my warning. Booking.com is now trying to contact them to issue a refund but cannot even reach the owner. I paid for a room I couldn’t safely stay in and received zero accountability. If you are tired on a road trip and thinking of pulling over here because it’s convenient, don’t. Keep driving. This place is not just unpleasant — it feels unsafe and completely misrepresented.
