Shearwater Hotel & Spa

Great location, walking distance to town. Fantastic facilities, pool, gym, dinner, breakfast and bar were all top class.

Not much to fault really.

My husband and daughter were very impressed with the gym.

The seating in the bar and breakfast room were very uncomfortable. At both meals we were squashed into what seemed like makeshift seating areas. The staff weren't particularly friendly or welcoming in the food areas

We were so impressed with every aspect of our stay. Everything was thought of and made so easy with young kids. We stayed in the two room family room which was so spacious and had a private hall in between the rooms so everyone got a good nights sleep. The pool, cinema, and kids zone were fantastic and the staff were so friendly and welcoming. The bar food and atmosphere was great, and the room service was fast and easy. We couldn’t fault it and will definitely be back!

I had a wonderful time at the hotel. I really liked the service and the beautiful room. Everything was clean and lovely. The staff were very kind and always ready to help. Thank you for the wonderful work.

Attended for a weekend event. 2 nights. Twin room. Beds 3/5 for comfort. Pillows 1.5 / 5 not comfortable. Room and bathroom very clean, nice big bright room . Toilets are nightmare to flush. Shower difficult to regulate. From 7am a noise starts its like a table being dragged across the floor in room over head. Its every few minutes sometimes louder than others so difficult to sleep. This really annoyed me .Did say it to reception and they were to check it out but never got back to me. Ive decided its pipes or something. If that dont keep u awake housekeeping will make sure ur up.Sunday morning a male from housekeeping started knocking and never stopped until I actually had to get up and ask him what the hell. He said he was just wondering had i checked out. "Seriously " I just said does it look like it, but I'm up now aren't I.? If u want to know what rooms have checked out u go check with reception. There is an extendable mirror in bathroom for makeup or shaving which would have been very usefull but u must be 8ft tall to look into it. Good tea/coffee facility.and hairdryer and safety box. Pool/sauna/steamroom all adequate. Pool nicely heated. No showers that I cud find apart from one out by Pool before u go back into locker rooms. ( maybe I missed them but I didnt see any). Staff very friendly in reception and bar/restaurant. Food very good. Had Indian curry Friday night, very good and fish and chips sat night also vg. And a greek salad vg also.Very luxurious and comfortable lobby area. I would stay again but not in room 115.

Very very shocking experiences in the spa here. I went for two treatments and both with students. Really let down by the service. When asked what the product was she was using on my skin, she replied “I don’t know but one of the other girls uses it” There was a lot more stuff that happened here and unfortunately my complaint was never picked up or no contact was made with me by anyone working at the spa. On the day of my appointment there were only two students onsite, this was a Friday afternoon - no manager around. The second experience was even worse. The skin was taken off my face, and the student therapist continued to say I must have sensitive skin, which I do not and have never experienced anything like that. Very frustrating that this is the level of service received on more than one occasion. I won’t be going back - for sure.
