The Palms at Pelican Cove

The property seems to have been something pretty decent years ago, but not now and for the money being spent it does not quantify.

Unsafe and disgusting property

This place should be torn down it's literally falling apart, dirty and discussing, water damage, broken glass and garbage throughout property. Everything about this place on Expedia pics is a complete lie. Wish I could post the pics I took on this review most people would be horrified

1. This resort does not reflect the pictures online. I felt like I had been scammed. 2. The beach and ocean are not useable. The sargassum is so bad and the resort does not maintain the beach. 3. I contacted Expedia and complained. The manager Star came to our room and informed us that we should complain to the her. I didn’t even know she existed. She informed me she makes rounds on her guests. We had been there for 3 days and at the pool since that was the only place you could basically go. We weren’t hard to find. 3. Star was very defensive and I tried to intimidate us with security who never spoke until I asked his name. I had passed him several times on the walk way and said good morning and he never spoke then either. He did not have a uniform on just a black t-shirt and black jeans. No identifiers to alert guest he was security. 4. The front desk clerk showed me several rooms but they all we had different issues. I choose to stay in the current room. 5. This encounter was very uncomfortable. We chose to leave at daylight the remainder of the days we had left and use another facilities amenities. 6. A few days later Star came to our room one evening to offer us a free breakfast or lunch. I declined. Star informed me the previous owners were at fault for the resort conditions. I totally get that but the pictures on Expedia don’t reflect the resorts conditions. 7. I would not recommend this resort to anyone wanting to use the beach, ocean, wanting resort entertainment or a restaurant onsite. 8. This resort caters to the locals instead of paying guest.

We enjoyed our stay at the Palms. Great location. They had nightly entertainment by the pool/bar area. The rooms were separated from that area so they were nice and quiet. Rooms were clean but need a slight update - perfect for a beach getaway. The AC in our room rocked! Staff was helpful and attentive. Compliments to the chef!

Our room had a private patio with a beautiful ocean view. The property was old and worn, but they were working on fixing some of the problems mentioned in previous reviews while we were there. The food and drinks were terrific and the service was laid back and friendly. Apparently we were there during a very slow week and there were very few guests around and it was actually too quiet, verging on depressing at times. This was a shame because the hotel made a good effort to provide entertainment - relaxing island music and a Moko Jumbie show. Definitely rent a car so you can get out of the area and explore. Special thanks to Larissa for keeping our room and the property clean, as well as Shay for a smooth check-in, and KiJuan for friendly service throughout our stay.

I enjoyed the peacefulness. I would have liked chairs on the beach. A lot of the beach is rocky. The view was gorgeous from my oceanfront room. Food was good at the restaurant.

Need remodeling in some areas.

The grounds were poorly kept. See pics. The grass was overgrown and there was debris everywhere. The pool was molding AFTER it was shocked. Someone collected the debris that had fallen in but no attempt was made to clear the green algae. See pics. The pillows had no pillow cases. The furniture and bathroom set up looked like it was pieced together with random items. There were no key cards. We were given physical keys and had to swap the keys back and forth with the office and housekeeping to get replacements towels. One young lady on the housekeeping staff was especially nasty. No attempt to offer good service. Straight attitude. The bar staff made ever attempt to be accommodating and friendly. They were the best part of the stay. At check in we asked where alll of the other people were. The lobby and bar were empty. We were told everyone was sleeping. It was 2pm!! Trust was There were probably only 6 other people staying there. She also voluntarily told us the pool was just shocked multiple times. It was not only green with algae but dirty. She told us we could walk to various restaurants. We couldn’t remember seeing any on the drive in. There was NOTHING within walking distance, She was clearly being deceptive and exaggerating the truth about the resort and its offerings. I would NOT recommend this resort to anyone.

We loved the location of this hotel, right on the beach and very close to Christiansted downtown. The people are amazing, very helpful and welcoming. They would do anything to make you feel happy. I do not like to point this out because I met the nicest people working at this place, but we had mold in the shower and the floor was not cleaned during our stay. We stayed 7 nights and our room was never cleaned. We only received clean towels and sheets when we asked for. I would choose this place again for the view right on the beach, but I’m afraid I would have to bring my own cleaning supplies. With a little Clorox that mold in the shower would be easily cleaned.
