The breakfast was awesome

Everything was perfect

The hotel was clean. For the most part the staff was helpful and friendly

The overwhelming smell of marijuana in the elevator and in the hallway

The location and the size of the room and bathroom.

When I put my charger in my lamp plug, it short circuited with fire sparks. This knocked out our lights. I mentioned it to the front desk agent and she sent maintenance. She did not show empathy or accommodate me with my inconvenience. This was scary to see sparks coming so close to my face.

I stayed at the Hilton Garden Inn 1999 Power Plant Hampton, VA May 1,2026 to May 3, 2026, and unfortunately, I encountered a few cleanliness issues. There was no toilet paper on the roll and the other one had just enough , standing water in the sink, stain on the pillow and stain in the tub, ice machine broke on 2nd floor. I hope management addresses these concerns quickly, as I expected higher standards based on the brand and previous stays.

The Hilton Garden Inn at 1999 Power Plant charges taxes regardless of being on military orders. The manager explained and Hilton Honors would not refund the taxes and said that the tax exemption policy is chosen by the hotel. Pillow cases didn’t fit the pillows. The pillows hung out of the pillow cases. Seemed kind of gross to see the old blood stains, although I’m sure the feather pillows get washed. Food & drinksBreakfast is $15 and it is the typical continental breakfast with eggs, bacon, and sausage. Seemed expensive. Normally it’s complimentary.
