Hilton Garden Inn Hampton Coliseum Central

I am a global traveler - whose eyes have seen MANY a Hilton properties. This HGI severely let us down. Here is a detailed breakdown: During the festive timespan I opted to book this venue, for its prime location. There is a min Walmart and auto care store in the adjoining parking lot. and within 1mile radius you can find many restaurants and shopping venues. At check-in, I was greeted by a friendly face and went off to the room to drop off some plants and food for the arriving family members. This stay was a lack luster experience. Upon getting on the elevator, a LOUD sound was heard as it took off or stopped. The dated and overused elevator button needs some attention. The patchwork is shoddy. There was a clock in the room, but it did not work. What also did not function properly was found in the gym - none of the stair climbers worked and my mom is an avid fitness guru. So that was much to her dismay. The scale did not work, and I even tried the treadmills - nothing there either. It was roughly at 30% occupancy our initial night - virtually just 4 to 6cars in the parking lot. On our second night, the next door neighbors had young kids and a woman kept screaming (stating) to them until around 3:30 AM, "Don't make me tell you again, to be quiet." Both she and those kids were LOUD for several hours, but with it being Christmas Eve - we let it go. They totally disrupted my sleep pattern. Those kids either were not there OR were indeed quiet on Christmas day and the following one. The shower got hot and helped us relax. WHAT WORKED SO-SO: Breakfast was offered - but for a FEE. Again, another NOT MENTIONED FEE on this HGI website, presented to us IN-PERSON. Please, in 2026 refrain WITH the DECEPTIVE pricing PRACTICES. (Especially for the sub-par property offerings). They gave us meal vouchers, but it was SO severely lackluster we ended up going to Tommy's Restaurant or Old Country, for our nourishment. The lobby coffee machine was frequently COLD or EMPTY. The jar or 'hot' water, never was anything but room temperature. The first floor lounge area only is really by the bar. There is a large 'fireplace' feature with just one tv by it and limited seating. It was hard to watch a game or get a sense of lobby life there. A re-design in GREATLY needed. Parking was FREE on the reservation, but my parents got charged to park. BE MORE OPEN AND HONEST on your CORPORATE website. There was some Christmas decor. The side doors and not ADA compliant - it was hard for some guests to enter OR exit this property. INSIDE THE ROOM: Upon entering in the room, there was a dated and tired sofa where the cushions did not properly fit the space anymore. SEE THE GREEN SOFA PIC BELOW. There clearly has been some water damage at this property as there was an abundance of wall patchwork on the walls & ceilings - (some photos attached). In the bedroom, there was a VERY WORN chair. Just sad. The frig is a small size and the coffee machine would not work either. There is a microwave - (no stove). I will never return or book THIS property unless a through property redesign is undertaken.

Front desk very friendly and helpful.

Overhead light at entry to the room burned out. Reported but not addressed. Heater in the room inoperative.

The only good thing was the front desk lady was very sweet and accommodating

The hot tub was out of order without notice and that’s one of the reason we booked here,the bath water was cold could barley even take a bath or shower,we never received our blankets after realizing our blankets were gross upon arriving and the staff were rude other the front desk lady she was very helpful and nice!
