Hotel Campanile Dijon Centre - Gare

A must to stay in this hotel. Right next to train station and tram stop right outside hotel but very quiet. Dijon is easily walked so this hotel granted a great starting point as it is right at the beginning of town. I would recommend staying here as I would stay here (plan to in the near future) again.

I prepaid the room for 2 nights. We could not drive close to the hotel because there is no place to park in front of the hotel to unload so we parked a few blocks away, and dragged our bags to the hotel. I told the receptionist that I had to use the bathroom, and would come back to give her my credit card for the city tax, which is 1.7 euro. She smiled and nodded, but her colleague Christel chimed in and said harshly "no, you have to give us your credit card to guarantee the city tax NOW." I said, "I need to use the bathroom now and will come back to give you the card. I have paid for the room and will not run away from the 1.7 euro." No, she said rudely. This is the first incident. We went to the room, did what we had to do and left immediately because we were worried about the card might get a ticket. We came back at 5:30, trying to wash my daughter in the tub, and realized that the tub was very dirty. My husband went to the receptionist andChristel said curtly, "why didn't you tell us the tub was dirty when you checked in. There are no cleaning people now, and here are some napkins and clean it yourselves." When we showered, we realized the wall in the shower had not been cleaned for years, and the grimes changed the color of the wall, which my husband thought was the texture of the wall at first.

The staff was pleasant and helpful. It's close enough to walk to the main shopping areas and sights. But it's right across the street from the main station, so transportation is easy if you're not up for walking. A large municipal parking garage is also across the street and available at a discounted rate through the hotel.

A bit tatty but budget so to be expected I suppose, air con very loud good location easy access to centre

This is the second time we have stayed here, 2011 and June this year, the tram system is now complete and is an easy way to get about. The hotel is still great and no issues with noise. The beds are comfy and bathroom is good. A good base right on the doorstep of the railway station. My only advise would be; DO NOT EAT AT THE PIZZERIA RESTAURANT next door! Service is appalling, the guy insulted my wife & friend, I had to be restrained.

Right opposite the station, so very easy to wheel cases across if arriving by train. Not noisy--entrance on street with no cars--only very quiet trams. Room adequate for short stay but not much space for clothes on a longer stay. We only had one breakfast and one evening meal on site. We thought the nearby cafe/restaurants gave better value. The tourist Office had plenty of info. and the walking tour of the town was very informative (even in the pouring rain!). Plenty of interesting museums and churches to visit (free). Lovely old architecture. Ideal for a short stay. Good tram and bus system.

at least one of our non smoking rooms absolutely reeked of smoke. The WiFi was worse than useless as wasted a lot of time not being able to connect - very poor value when compared to other places in France.

Stayed for just one night, you can usually rely on Campsnille Hotels for a reasonable standard of service, cleanliness and comfort and this hotel lives up to that. Situated right opposite the train station so ideal for people travelling by train but there is a multi storey car park at the station so easy parking and at a reasonable price. The area is currently undergoing improvements to tramlines and roads surrounding, so can be a bit dusty and noisy, men were working immediately below my balcony until around 23.00 but with the doors closed I didnt really notice. Ideal stop off point and close to the town centre.

Hotel was very nice, very close to the Railway Station. Hotel was nice & quiet even with the new Trams running past the front door.

Needs updating, badly Great location and the construction is mostly over. Staff is not rude, but uninterested.
