The hotel is about to close for 3 years for refurbishment which we weren't advised of when we booked. There was skeleton staff, not the usual Luton Hoo we have experienced over the last 8 years.

"A Very Good Stay"

10.0

We have just returned from a two night stay at Luton Hoo as part of our 50th wedding anniversary celebrations. We had read some of the terrible reviews and had even phoned to try to cancel the stay. We were very pleased that we did not. Our room was huge with everything we needed including functioning air conditioning which was welcome in the recent hot weather. There was a patio area outside the room with a table and chairs. The room does need updating but it was clean and the bed was big and comfortable. We had dinner and breakfast in the lovely dining room and both were very good. The staff were friendly, helpful and attentive. The grounds and gardens are extensive and perfect for a stroll. We went to the Spa, which again needs updating, but the swimming pool is large and clean. The saunarium and steam room were good too but the sauna and one of the showers were not working. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

"Very Good"

7.0

Comfy bed, nice room location, lovely gardens. Spa was nice but awaiting a revamp. Breakfast was really good, good choice, staff polite.

Our room was in the lower parkland floor but as you walked through the corridors it smelt really stale. The bathroom taps had problems too. I had to ask twice for fresh milk (same as last time). I know the hotel is being refurbished soon. Hopefully they won’t over price the rooms when it’s finished.

"An enjoyable stay with very friendly staff"

8.0

The character and history of the place.

The air conditioning in the room was very noisy and I wish the pool/spa was not so far away.
