Luton Hoo Hotel, Golf and Spa

Nice setting, but that's about it. Golf course is closed, as is associated 19th hole. Property is about to undergo renovation and it needs it. No bar, all silver spoon esque table service in lounge seats. Nowhere comfortable to work except in the room, which was generous in space with good provision but also very dated. Wouldn't stay again, not what I was looking for in a business stay hotel.

Some Areas of the property is in a very poor state. The spa was very neglected with locks hanging off doors and dirty windows- it was very unkempt. The restaurant felt cramped because they sat you on top of people rather than giving space - we were beside a 5 week old baby at dinner - and for breakfast they tried to sit us near the kitchen. We asked to move and they tried to sit us with our chairs up against the breakfast buffet but again we asked to move - there were plenty of other tables! Overall the staff tried hard but it was very expensive for the quality of the hotel and the service.

Nice setting and grounds. Work seems to have started on a 3 year renovation project. Parts of the interior are worn out but its probably lasted many decades and the estate was very clean. Staff were very helpful.

We could only use the spa for a 3 hour window so felt a bit rushed to enjoy all the hotel had to offer. Our meal in the restaurant was ok, not the best and not the worst, however very expensive but was expected

Upon arrival, we were informed that both the swimming pool and spa were out of service due to maintenance issues. This was extremely disappointing, as these facilities were a key reason for choosing your hotel and were meant to be part of a relaxing experience for my wife. While dinner at 8:30 pm was enjoyable, the evening took a turn for the worse when both my wife and I became ill shortly after returning to our room. We were in and out of the bathroom for much of the night, which completely ruined what was meant to be a celebratory and relaxing occasion. I would appreciate it if you could investigate this matter and advise on how you intend to address these issues. We had high expectations for our stay, and unfortunately, it fell far short of what we had hoped for. I look forward to your response.

Beautiful grounds, view from the room. Apart from that definitely not 5 star. We arrived to having to lug our suitcase up the beautiful stairs at the entrance whilst the reception guy was dealing with a deliveroo driver. At the very least I would have expected, pardon me one moment, just let me deal with this and I’ll be right with you! We realised in the bar why someone would want deliveroo as no bar snacks/light bites available, no room service and if you want maybe we can get a starter from the restaurant menu, but nothing more! Room ok, very tired. Breakfast, we were shown to the table ordered tea, nothing came, no one came to take an eggs order, until we prompted. Checkout, no one to help with luggage again. When asked how are stay was, we said, just about ok, receptionist didn’t ask anything about it.
