The Westin Ka'anapali Ocean Resort Villas

We stayed 10 nights in 1 br ocean view. The room was spacious with full kitchen and washer/dryer. Very quiet and clean. The resort is beautiful several pools to choose from. Never had problems finding chairs. We rented beach chairs and umbrella from nearby “the snorkel store”. The beach is beautiful and had fantastic snorkeling. Every staff member we encountered were friendly and efficient.

This is a beautiful resort and very manageable size. The grounds are nicely maintained. We used the BBQ's several times and they were clean with gorgeous views of the ocean. The pool was nice and the adult hot tub was never packed. The beach is clean with mild waves and tons of fishes/turtles. They offer a shuttle to the Whaler's Village every 20 minutes if you want to go out for dining/shopping. Our room was really spacious (1 bedroom) with a large deck and views of the ocean and pool area. We loved our stay and would definitely recommend. Laid-back vibe.

We loved the Westin Ka'anapali, our first time staying in Maui. Room was awesome-- quiet, comfortable, and clean, as was the pool and walk out to the beach. Staff was super friendly, and we loved the cats, too.

Stayed 6 nights in April and it was by far the least enjoyable stay. I'm a westin vacation owner and returned guest of the property. 1. Room location: Booked Studio Premium Villa, Deluxe, Ocean front. Got room keys for 2227 which was direct view of Pool and 1/4 angle of ocean view from the balcony. I called Front desk few times and the first gentleman insisted that the room is "categorized as ocean front even though it isn't actually ocean front unit" This room is a part of two bedroom deed that the owner's deed has it marked oceanfront. He then had me wait to speak with his supervisor and she offered me a same location type room, 3527, she said although Studio is not ocean front it's part of ocean front deed. Room 3527 has direct view of parking lot and the picnic area of the airpot beach but it's on the higher floor so ocean view is significantly better... still not ocean front. 2. General services: Poolside crew are ok. Valet and bell services were excellent and eager to help most of the time. Front desk staffs are difficult to talk to. I came in to the resort very minimal exepectation and i'm glad i did. 3. Property: the resort is in a prime location direct beach acess to airport beach and is excellent view overlooking molokai. Snorkeling is one of the best in the island. The unit was spacious enough for my teenager and me. Furtnitures and carpet look clean. The balcony could use fresh paint. My recommendation with anyone who is looking into stay in a studio unit, check with the resort directly and verify it because what i learned throughout the fisaco with the staffs and manager is that ocean front unit doesn't exist for studio unit in this resort. Why they list it as oceanfront and charge more by advertising it is something that i'd need a clarity from Westin vacation club. It is generally not legally permissible for hotel to advertise it "oceanfront" and deliver a partial ocean view room. I'll be filiing a complaint to BBB and contact DCCA Hawaii to investigate this deceptive act.

Roaches, roaches and roaches. Everyday in & around the kitchen. Even inside the dishwasher! They came out 2x to spray during our stay. We were told (by staff) that building 7 is notorious for bugs. Aside from spraying (which seemed to do nothing), nothing else was done. No apology from management. No offer to move to a different unit. No offer of points or reimbursement. Nothing. It was hard to enjoy our stay since time in the unit was spent killing and trying to avoid bugs.

Nice property, with good access to the beach, but I don't think we will go to this facility again. The staff were not polite. We had to wait for 15 minutes to check in to the resort, although there was no line. There was only 1 person at the check in desk at 2 PM in the middle of the day, who was on the phone while totally ignoring us and keeping us waiting. There are only 2 restaurants, with no options for fine dining, restaurant food is overpriced and very average. We had to walk to another tower every day to eat breakfast buffet, which by the way was very underwhelming and overpriced.

The whole experience was magical. The gardens and the pool area were well maintained, very beautiful. The Villas had everything you need to enjoy a vacation in paradise. The view from this resort was stunning. I loved watching the sunset every evening.

First of all just know going in this is a time share. So no room service or many amenities. Rooms are old and the floor we are on smells musty. We paid for a two bedroom villa for my husband, myself and our two daughters. When we arrived we were given two adjoining rooms and was told that is considered a two bedroom villa. So my kids' have their own door to the hallway. Nobody cares. This place is a huge disappointment. Don't spend your money here.

We would like to commend Hilario in Engineering for his competence in quickly finding a failed hdmi cable to our tv system that was preventing us from watching the Formula 1 broadcast that we had a personal interest in, and in how he handled himself with such graciousness. Our room, 6344 is next to service area - it was noisy early in the morning (before 7:00), and had unpleasant odors. Room has ants in couch area, dining table and on kitchenette counters. Really appreciated room freshening two times during our stay.
