The only downside was the very deep bath impossible for a 75 year old to sit down and get up needs some rooms with a shower otherwise excellent

"Not a pleasant or relaxing stop. "

Not a pleasant stay. Room 145, situated right against the corridor to the function room below. Underneath is the golf buggy car park (with hospitality service taking guests to and from the restaurant until late) woken at 5:10am as a cleaner hoovered 2 floors of concrete steps by whacking it side to side from top to bottom. Sauna out of order, receptionist clueless. I really hate whinging, and the above doesn’t detract from the nice facility in general. But typical of a large poorly managed hotel, whereby the cost of staff hourly rates is more important than training.
