Nice to have a spa, pool area very nice treatment rooms were lovely although expensive …breakfast had very good choice Good to know pets are allowed I have stayed there twice

Great experience here, stayed for 2 nights with our Labrador Winston. Great facilities the dog was allowed pretty much everywhere but in the breakfast hall, however they accommodated the dog at breakfast by seating us in the bar area which was perfect. Lovely country walks near by. The pizza on site was delicious, staff were super friendly and very helpful. Winston has his own litttle doggy bed and bowl. We would definitely return!! Thanks for having us!

Very relaxing experience. Our deluxe room with a balcony was lovely - spotless bedding and bathroom - and the option to have the patio door open all night with a lock meant that we could enjoy the fresh air while still feeling safe. There was also an upper window which could have been opened, so there was none of that stuffy feeling that you can get in some other hotels. Being able to sit on the balcony with a cup of coffee first thing in the morning, overlooking the lake, and listening to the gentle sounds of swans swimming through the reeds was a simply perfect way to start the day. Throughout our stay, every member of staff was friendly and helpful. There was a great choice for breakfast, free parking and plenty of waymarked walks along the lakes and canals with options for coffee and various watersports. Would definitely recommend.

Hi team, We arrived at the Hotel De Vere today for our Spa Break. I’m absolutely appalled at the level of hygiene of the spa. A pushchair from outside allowed to be poolside, a baby with normal nappy in the pool ( I shouldn’t have to tell you this but babies needs swim nappies in case they decide to excrete. Also if you’re going to sell it as a “spa break” there should be a restricted time for children to enter the pool. The spa receptionists just sat there and watched), people coming in from outside with muddy shoes, poolside filthy! We stayed for 36 minutes to be exact! The pool apparently was supposed to be at 27 degrees, but instead was freezing cold! How can you call this a spa break? God forbid having quite high ratings on the spa breaks website. We actually booked and paid for another treatment to get some sort of good experience, which in the second treatment the front of my arm on the right side was missed out from massaging. We were given robes but no towels and had to pay for slippers? We got into our hotel room, no amenities apart from hand wash, shampoo and shower gel, which I know for a fact they’re all the same! No main lighting in the room, just a few lamps and the main ceiling bulb near the closet? How does that help when you need to see properly to get ready in the dark? I’ve been to Village hotels and Premier Inn hotels with more than this and cheaper! We reached the boathouse for a 7.30pm reservation, waited to be seated with 4 people behind the bar just staring at us, it took them 5 mins to approach us and there was 2 staff members cleaning and pouring drinks, 1 staff member serving and another standing and chatting. We waited 15 mins for our table because the staff were “ waiting for a table to finish”, even though there was a free table that seated 4 people that was available which was given to a couple that came in after us, also booked with the hotel and on a spa break? My “bruschetta” was literally a slice of cake bread?! I know it’s basically a “glorified pub”, as one of the members put it, but you can literally go down to Lidl and buy bruschetta for less than £2! Actual bruschetta. We booked a spa break and we expected a spa break, instead it’s just been a filthy disaster. The worst spa I’ve been to in the UK, and I have seen, been to and worked in many! P.S I work in spa/ hospitality so I am fully aware of what’s needed for the establishment to have certain ratings. This is NOT a 4 star hotel. We are so disappointed and angry as we really needed to get away and destress and instead we were met with a crying baby poolside, dodging hair and dirt, getting ready in the dark and cake for a bruschetta! On a positive note, the view in gorgeous from the room and the hotel reception team, our server at the old boathouse and her colleague who was an absolute gent were amazing, also hotel bar staff! Definitely needs to be updated though, especially if the hotel is going to charge the prices it does. Rickety old dusty fans in the bathroom and a dirty blind on the window isn’t exactly screaming 4 star?

Room was clean and just what we needed. Staff were helpful, however when attending for breakfast I was told ‘it’s closing’ rather than just offered a seat, when breakfast was due to be open for another hour. We then also had a small bite in the lounge area the next day, and the food took nearly 40mins. We used the spa facilities, and these are always great. The room was comfy and just as we would expect. It’s the second time we have stayed, and would go back again.

Booked the upgrade balcony offer ( which wasn’t really a balcony) but arrived at 3pm and room wasn’t available for an hour so by time we settled in wasn’t much time to enjoy it Turned kettle on and smoked - so had burning smell in room . Took over an hour to replace ( as housekeeping obviously maxed out on room cleaning) Room was good but surprised had gas radiator so was quite cold . Not stayed in a modern hotel before without temperature control - wouldn’t want to stay in Winter To be fair restaurant food was excellent and staff very friendly Unfortunately few things spoiled our special anniversary day

Generally overall ok. However must flag compliant made to reception re En-suite - ceiling which was disgusting, badly stained with black mould growth and bath was stained with dye mark or similar

Couldn’t check in at 3pm - room delayed by hour which defeated objective of upgrade as couldn’t use balcony for sitting outside whilst still light The kettle was faulty and created burning smell in room Cold - used gas radiators that didn’t work Next door to Hen party & barking dog other side . Understand to help cleaners nice to have guests together but hotel was 1/2 empty so could have staggered more for noise abatement Tbf restaurant food was excellent

Amazing spa staff really friendly and helpful and rooms always clean

Very enjoyable stay. Reception staff very welcoming and accommodating.
