De Vere Cotswold Water Park

A lovely hotel with a welcome from all staff. The room was spacious and clean. There was no bottled water or glasses in the room. The room was hot, even when turning the radiator off. There is no air conditioning. There was a portable fan in the room which helped, but was noisy. We used a dog friendly room, but this was two corridors away from the nearest exit. A dog bed, towel and bowl were provided.

Nice clean and comfortable room after almost tripping up on some items that someone had left in the hallway. No air-conditioning which could be an issue in mid summer. The staff in the Brasserie were just not interested and were a bit rude. Limited menu available and rather expensive. Staff at the Boathouse were much more friendly though but still limited menu.

Overall, this was very poor value for money and not an experience I’d recommend. I visited the spa as part of a two-person “Drift Away” experience and found the whole afternoon disappointing and unnecessarily stressful. There was a general lack of care throughout, and the facilities were tatty and poorly maintained. Despite booking a two-person experience, the entire afternoon was scheduled separately, including afternoon tea, which completely undermined the idea of a shared, relaxing experience. Due to spa delays, we missed two treatments we had paid for, which was extremely frustrating. The spa staff were unhelpful, and subsequent correspondence with management was also disappointing. I requested a refund due to the missed treatments and poor service, but was instead offered another afternoon tea. The response also contained significant inaccuracies and failed to address key issues. This was the second time I’ve visited this De Vere and the second time I’ve been disappointed, having previously not been given the lake-view room that I’d booked. I live locally and would have liked to use this facility, but I won’t be returning.

Excellent location for those visiting the cotswolds. Lovely spacious rooms. Fully equipped with hair dryer, iron and tea making facilities. Lake view room, lovely and peaceful. We ate at the boat house. Stunning food and great service. Gym lovely and clean - free to use with a good choice of equipment. Small charge of £10 to use pool, sauna and steam room. However... Free in quiet times 7am-10am. Would definitely recommend!

Beautiful hotel, beautiful lake view, great breakfast and adequate gym for a highly active person. Highly recommend ! :)

I booked two nights for a business conference and was excited that the hotel allows dogs. However this was the worst dog friendly hotel I paid £30 a night for my dog on top of my stay. The room had no bowls or bed and throughout our stay the reception kept calling us and the conference organisers to say my dog was barking causing noise to other guests. I note this was during the day. I asked to be moved rooms as we had been allocated a room on a corridor with high footfall and a banging door. This kept up up all night as humans let alone my chihuahua. I didn't understand why a hotel would also place other non dog guests besides a doggy room. I ended up feeling harassed and irritated having to take my dog into a conference. I appreciate all guests need to be listed to but the hotel and staff were very unhelpful to us who also paid. Our dog is tiny and this wasn't at night disturbing sleep also it needed recognition that the room was not situated right for pets or other non dog guests.

Friends and I had a wonderful stay over new year, the apartment was roomy and exceptionally well equipped. Everywhere was spotlessly clean and the staff were immensely helpful and friendly

I had a really pleasant stay at De Vere Cotswold Water Park and would happily return if driving. The location is undeniably beautiful, surrounded by peaceful scenery that instantly helps you unwind. That said, public transport options are quite limited, and taxis from the nearest train station are expensive — I paid £29 for a 15-minute journey one way, which is worth factoring in if you’re not driving. The overall atmosphere of the hotel was relaxed and intimate, making it feel calm and welcoming throughout my stay. My room was clean, modern, and thoughtfully designed. I especially loved the illuminated mirror in the bathroom and the full-length mirror inside the wardrobe with built-in lighting — such a nice touch. The only downside was limited surface space in the bathroom, which made it a little tricky to place toiletries. In terms of value for money, I felt the stay was excellent and well worth the price. Cleanliness was also spot on — my room was spotless, and I didn’t experience any noise at all, which made for a very restful night. The service really stood out. The staff were friendly, attentive, and took the time to help with everything I needed, including printing documents and storing my luggage, which I really appreciated. A special mention must go to the events team, who were absolutely remarkable at their jobs. A big thank you to Emily, Georgia, Eszter, Faisal, and their teams — they handled every request and last-minute change with professionalism, efficiency, and a positive attitude. If you’re looking for a well-organised, attentive, and seamless event experience, this is definitely the place to go. The hotel also has a spa that looks lovely, though unfortunately I didn’t have time to use it as I was visiting for work. It’s definitely something I’d like to try on a future visit. Overall, a great stay in a beautiful setting with excellent service and comfort.

My 2 event which was set up and laid on is a special event and could not have been in a more tranquil setting with great people.

On arrival, we spoke to reception who checked that out room was ready by ringing housekeeping. After that we headed straight to our room,on arrival room appeared clean and tidy, well stocked with tea,coffee sachets and milk. We noticed the heating had been left on full blast. Bathroom was left tidy. I wanted a shower so asked other to check temperature was okay, had shower washed hair. Then, there was design flaw... How am I going to straighten my hair in dark now the room hasn't got a lot a light in ceiling under the mirror. Probably expect people to do straightening hair in morning when there is natural sunlight. Bath another night was fine. Incredibly quiet hardly any noise! Again minor one here, tv should be on wall in centre above mirror. Breakfast on first morning was good, please check the temperature of hot food when sitting on side. Second morning temperature of hot items was better. Coffee is okay could be better, I like my coffee so would opt for stronger beans! Basic cooked breakfast or you can have toast, cereal, fruit and lactose free yoghurt. Overall, if you want a quiet stay this is the place to get some rest. But if you want to go to swimming pool if your stay rate... This is an extra. Car parking is good Children are seen with family enjoying climbing frames and swings outside. After waking up the next day, we had a good night's sleep. Move the canvas up higher on wall as if tall you are leaning against it.
