The property was nice & clean. The lobby is beautiful. All the Pool parties were fabulous. I was disappointed that many buildings did not have elevators to reach the top floors.

The resort is large. There is something for everyone. Lots of food options, pools and places to hang out during the day.

"Great resort"

10.0

Laid out very efficiently and never had to fight for a pool chair. Food was great rooms were clean. Most of the parties were wrapped up fairly early but one night went pretty late with people coming in and out of the rooms at all hours. Some Al le carte meals were buffet but still good.

"10/10 vacation"

10.0

Absolutely loved my time here. I took a RiuFit class with Ariana my first day and she was definitely one of the sweetest people I have ever met! Be sure to check out the shows as well as she is the most amazing performer I have seen in a while as well. I could go on and on about her truly she was a highlight to my entire experience.

"10/10 would recommend in a heartbeat"

10.0

The resort was amazing and very accommodating. Not only were the drinks cold, but the service was amazing and everyone had a smile that made you feel comfortable and happy. I don’t normally leave reviews but I could pass the chance to let people know how much they need to experience this astonishing resort. As soon as we entered till the day we left we had smiles on our face and laughs till our stomachs hurt. Live music and more pools and bars you could count on one hand. 100% will be coming back next year

"Good but not impressive"

8.0

It was an ok experience. Nothing impressive, food was mediocre and so was entertainment. I still enjoyed my trip however next time I’ll spend a little more for something more luxurious with better food.

"A young adults RIU"

6.0

Let’s start with the airport transfer, once you grab your bags and head to the bus you will be haggled by timeshare and excursion people. When you find your bus and get to it be prepared to wait quite a while as people are stopping and having drinks before they come to the bus! We sat close to an hour before the last two stragglers boarded. Ride wasn’t too bad. Now the resort, check in wasn’t too bad but if you asked for a king bed be prepared to have two singles put together! They promise a pad on top but what they do is add a blanket (like the spar ones in the closet) with a king sheet over top! Beds were very uncomfortable! Back was sore all week! The rooms were clean and they were good at restocking the fridge and cleaning. Don’t stay in building 8 or 9 if you want to sleep at night, stick close to the beach! Weather was good but if it rains it’s a long walk to the dining room uncovered and walkways are flooded. The walk to the supper buffet and à la carts was a long walk (we were in building number seven.), The pools were great, most were filled with young adults but we did find one beside the palace that was a little quieter with a bit older adults. This resort is perfect if you are between 20&30!, if you like to party and drink and stay up late! The entertainment is perfect for you! No judgement as I was that age myself at one time. The food was good, same as all the RIU,s. À la carts were your typical, nothing fancy. Staff were just doing their job, the odd few went above and beyond and were personable but most just kept to themselves. Beach was nice but as we all know there’s few places to swim in los cabos. The beach was also very steep so difficult to walk. On the upside if you go in town the marina is beautiful, go off the beaten path to get cheaper souvenirs if your looking for them as if you buy in the marina area you with pay cruise ship prices! Make sure to visit Cabo wabo, Sammy haggars bar, its a little pricey but that’s cabos for you?. Also go to happy endings for cheap drinks and food (2 beers and 2shots for $5 US. Loved going in town but will not stay at the Santa Fe again.

"Expansive resort and gorgeous views"

8.0

We travelled as a family of 4 to the Riu Santa Fe the first week of February. Our kids are 12 and 15. We booked two connecting rooms, which were perfect for our family, and provided lots of space for us. The rooms were clean, well maintained and we had no issues other than the key being taken out of the power slot once when our kids left it in and we had to request a new one from the front desk. The food was what you’d expect from a Riu, lots of options and buffet style. We did notice that the selection of meals available from the à la carte restaurants was less than the Palace versions of the same, but it didn’t impact our experience at all, just something to note if you are considering this one instead of the Palace. The resort has a great infinity pool overlooking the ocean, and lots of swim up bars - note these are adult only. This resort caters to the Riu parties, and there are 4 a week! They are off in a separate section, and 18+ only unlike others Riu’s we’ve been to where the kids could enjoy them too. This didn’t impact our experience but we did wonder if maybe the evening entertainment wasn’t as good here due to the entertainment staff being directed to the Riu parties instead. Again, evening shows were fine, nothing to write home about but something to do after dinner. The resort had a large courtyard area around the stage and this was a great area get a drink, people watch, play games, and more. Despite the resort being huge, it never felt too crowded as there was plenty of space for everyone, and we never had trouble finding loungers at the pool or somewhere to sit.

"WARNING!!!"

2.0

I am writing this to warn any travelers and parents of young adults, about a terrible experience my 18-year-old son and his girlfriend experienced at the Riu Santa Fe resort in Cabo the weekend of Jan 24th. A resort guest forced his way into their room, resulting in my son having to physically defend himself and his girlfriend until the man left. My son immediately called resort security for help- no one came. In a panic he called Cabo PD, it took several attempts to get through. When they arrived, they were completely indifferent to the bloody scene in the room. They did not take a statement, nor did they search for the intruder; absolutely nothing was done. They felt abandoned and unsafe, so they fled the resort and paid for emergency flights home a day early. If you think a major resort like RIU Hotels and Resorts will protect you in an emergency, please think again. Please share this to warn others.
