Lido Beach Resort - Sarasota

This is our 2nd time staying at Lido Beach Resort. The first time we stayed was in June - not in peak spring break season. I'm hoping that's the reason for the lesser experience this time around. Our experience in June 2023 was 100% exceptional. I'm not basing my review off the beach grill since you could avoid it all-together, which I recommend. The resort itself is amazing. Pros: 1. The view is unbelievable - centered right on Lido Beach, our ocean view room was absolutely beautiful and relaxing. 2. We had a little kitchenette in the room - great money saver with kids. However, most of our plates broke in the microwave (yes, they were microwave safe) and our electric stovetop had a crack in it. But it was still nice to cook breakfast in the room. 3. The coffee shop was so good! The staff in the coffee shop were amazing - I'm so sorry I can't remember their names, but they were all wonderful. The lines get long, but it's worth the wait. And the coffee refills are free all day - nice perk. 4. Walking distance to St. Armands - it was really nice to get out and walk around. There's also a van that comes around and goes to the circle if you don't feel like walking, bad weather, etc. 5. Housekeeping, front desk staff, valets, towel staff, beach/drink service - all so nice and you could tell they love their work. Housekeeping came by to check for extra towels, toiletries, turn down -- they were amazing. 6. There's a changing room with shower off the main lobby in case your room is not ready - great idea. Cons: 1. The beach/pool chair reservation game was in full effect - like I said, it was spring break. However, one of the beach chair guys got sharp with me...listen, you wouldn't, and didn't, talk to my husband that way. They were irritated with people early reserving chairs and not coming back. Change your tone, my man. We didn't reserve chairs at the ass-crack of dawn and not return till noon. We got chairs at 0800 and sat on them at 0800. Chill out. 2. The blonde bartender was rude AF. 3. The poolside grill - we tried. We really, really tried. The food is meh - it's just convenient being right off the beach/pool area. Let me start by saying Yanet (hostess) and Rob (server) - wonderful and worked their butts off. I don't mind waiting an hour for a table - I'm on vacation. However, it's EASILY and hour+ wait for food once you sit down. That's frustrating. It's not the servers' fault - the kitchen and management need to figure that out. Second, one of the food expeditors dumped a drink all over my kid, he just stared at him, he brought us the wrong food, then said, "that's not my fault." ...who raised you? Rude.

Great service! Valet staff was always helpful and friendly. The entire staff at the resort was great!

We love this resort and visit it each year with a large group of family. Top notch amenities and service. Highly recommended. I want to personally give a shout out to Will. Great service. You will go far.

Once again this place did not disappoint. We come every year. The tiki bar is my favorite place in Florida. The staff, food and drinks are fantastics. When you know them all by name at the end of the week you know it's great service - Doug, Tori, Alex, Dennis, Mark - Cheers!

We had an amazing family spring break trip at Lido Beach resort! The service was amazing, especially Diego at the Tiki bar. Words don’t do justice what an attentive hard working individual he was. He truly enhanced our experience. Ask for Diego when getting a drink or poolside cocktail.

This is fifth or sixth time staying at Lido Beach Resort and it gets better and better! Things that stood out this trip: beds are very comfortable; there is now a hook in the bathroom for towels, suits, etc; poolside service has always been good and this time we tried beach side service and only had one small glitch (one girl (Jeannie??) deserves a raise--she was fabulous!; pizzas at the Drift are our favorite; ice cream sandwiches at 2:00; and just friendly service all the time. One thing that might be a concern but it wasn't for us specifically is the fact that LBR now allows guests at the sister hotel (Cirque) down the road to use the amenities. While I am not sure if this made it so crowded but I can imagine it does. I also noticed people "saving" seats at the pool even before the sun was up and then not sitting in them for hours! After a few days of that the pool staff started taking away the "Saved" seats after an hour--kudos to them for doing so finally! Lastly, keep checking wristbands and making sure kids aren't hanging out in the hottubs--your pool guys and gals were very good at this just when it was getting ridiculous. LBR will forever be our favorite spring break destination--keep up the good work!!

Lido beach resort is the perfect place for a family get-away. They have amenities for kids through adults and the employees are attentive and friendly. The valley/bellman, Will was very helpful and went out of his way to make sure we were taken care of!!! We will be back again!
